the perception of life and temporal age changes many times during one's journey...

george harrison dying at 58...my first thought was,,,so young to die..

i've long held that the magic number for my generation is 55...due to youthful indescretions and abuses...

watch as they pass..55, give or take a year or two...

very true, todd, 55 seems to be a benchmark, as one moves thru that age, regarless of personal health & well being, there is an awareness that more time has past, than remains... to me, quality then becomes far more significant, and, one's ability to define same.... I'm on the "55" bubble, for 300 more days..thank you for your inspiration, George

Yeah, that's about when I'm expecting to finally break down altogether, is 55 or so -- but maybe not so much because of youthful indiscretions in my case. I was often too sick (and/or broke) to take part in the general merrymaking, or else totally turned off by some of the tangiential aspects of "the scene". All the same, there's only so much of a beating that the body can be asked to take, and mine's taken far more than that, already.

One never knows, though. I bet George Burns never expected to see the flip side of 100, and I've certainly beaten all the odds just by making it this far ...

Say it ain't so! 55's way too close! I'm counting on a pod thing like Cocoon. Think a pool for that could be worked into the Blunderland blueprints?

todd, this is totally weird. i can only get through to you directly when i e-mail via the blunderboard. have you tried that yet? all my junk mail is coming through. even some of my personal mail, although i'm not getting as much as i would expect to get -- some of the people who normally write haven't written in a really long time, and i'm wondering if this block thing is happening to others. sheesh! tell me i don't have to go back to aol just to have my mail come through. please tell me it ain't so. <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/eek.gif" width=15 height=15>
