Well they found 2 suspects in our area. They were in Richmond, an hr North of us. I sure hope they got them. It was all over the news today. Unfortunately that meant they prempted ONE LIFE TO LIVE. If anyone caught ONE LIFE TO LIVE do fill me in. At least they didn't pre-empt GENERAL HOSPITAL... Sure hope this ends soon we all can be at peace once again as before...

Now I understand the secret code the chief of police was using to ask the press to contact them regarding the missed "Days of our Lives", if you could call us at the number Cheryl gave you to let us know what is was you told us while we were recording the conversation as the audio was bad.

No that's a lie, I don't understand it at all, but I love the name change for the topic.

LOL on the name change of the title. I sued to watch DAYS OF OUR LIVES in the 70's but lost interest in the 80's when some of the characters left & new ones came on. Sadly they still haven't found the siper yet. It appears the guys they found in Richmond weren't him. Yikes...

Cheryl, when do you ever find time to sleep? You're posting messages at all hours of the early morning, watch soaps all afternoon.

The sniper hit again this morning, around 6 AM. They've closed the Capital Beltway, which is amazing in itself. We're watching it on one of the all-news-all-the-time stations. Michael has been VERY interested in this and up until the other day he was the one I was getting all my news updates from. Now I, too, am tuning in to the TV.

Moose was giving a cryptic message last night and I think it's very interesting to note that several all-news stations were chastising the police for "screwing up" and a few commentators really went to town on the insults. They've lost my viewership, not that I matter all that much. There's such a thing as over-reporting something and another to not realize the severity of the situation and the cause for the cryptic message. I think these reporters need to be constrained just a bit. Would muzzles work? Their speculations and mis-speculations could actually be egging the sniper on. He's watching the news, too.

I doubt very much that the audio was "screwed up" as one reporter so bluntly announced.

France has notified Interpol that they have a "missing marksman" who was in the US and is now unaccounted for. Time will tell, but for now the sniper is truly getting "more bang for his buck" between killing at whim and playing with the police.

It's so easy for us to refer to him as "sick" but... he seems to be pretty smart to me. He's playing this out for all it's worth. And he's changed his MO, twice now... getting a bit more daring... maybe if they give him a little more rope, he'll hang himself by the end of this week. He's getting pretty close to making a mistake. At least, let's hope.

Cheryl, as for the soaps, sorry, I stopped watching back in 93 while on a camping trip. My 5" TV wasn't clear and, although I was taping everything on 2 VCRs at home, once I got back I just didn't have time to sit glued to 10 hours of TV.

Now that I'm back in school, I have no time at all, it's a miracle (or stress) that I left early yesterday and came home to bed, a heating pad, and the all-day news.

The sniper is certainly getting bolder. I'm watching the news this morning, too. My husband was told by a Dr. that with the types of injuries the ammo used by the sniper causes, those who survive the attacks will be in really awful shape even though they lived. I guess today's victim is in very critical condition undergoing surgery at this time.

With so many people being aware of what is going down, I am surprised that no one has spotted this guy yet. I am sorry for the suffering that has been caused the the victims and their families, I had not heard of the French Connection, I wonder why they would have a sniper in the USA. Let us all hope that the police will get the break they need and this will end today.

Now he's going after bus drivers; Mike, are you all right? It's time for Chief Moose to let the public in on the game that this sicko is playing. Obviously, the long letter he wrote contains some very specific threat language that the public should be made aware of since the cops can't protect us.

Todd always seemed to know what to do or say in most any given situation. I just wonder what his unique philosophical thoughts of wisdom would've been on all this insanity? D.C. and area is being forced to sit in the middle of all this and just suck on it until he/they are caught. I can only imagine what the harsh, real cold hair-raising feel must be like for the people of D.C. and area to think "Will I be the next victim? or one of my family members? or my neighbor? or a co-worker?" I feel for those in D.C. who have to live through this fear and admire the ones who choose not to let this fear haunt them into surrendering to a way of life that wasn't meant to be.

Yeah, my sis in Columbia MD. is subt. teacher. Last wk. when School was out early one of the buses had an oil leak. The driver got on the ground to check, stood up fast hit his head knocked out. (Blood leaking from his gash)...The parents came to the school to see First responders (Fire-trucks) and an Ambulence...Putting the fear factor into the allready volitile, situation...

My sister drove herself home, and realized she had lost her keys (from her car to the front door) And a street Cop asked her if she needed help. She told him her problem, and he carded her door, so she could get inside. The terrible thing, was she said she was MORE afraid of a cop, she had never seen. A cop had never offered his assistance before??? She said she had felt bad afterword, but it sounds like communitie's pulling together..

If we cannot pull together on the good situations, HOPEFULLY we can get together for the bad...

The reason I am on at such odd hrs it the diabetes & my meds I take for it make me really tired & wanting to sleep at all sorts of hours. I like to get on my puter & check my e-mail & message boards out before I go to bed. So sometimes I fallasleep earileir at ntie & then wake up at an oddball hr of the AM. Wanting to check my stuff on the internet before going to bed, I get online & check my stuff before I go on back to bed. Hence the weird hrs. I hate it as I'd like to get up early in the morning & then go to bed at say 2 am. Only soaps I watch are PORT CHARLES, ONE LIFE TO LIVE & GENERAL HOSPITAL. They interrpted PORT CHARLES today for the sniper news.

I am glad the sniper is gone from here but am sorry he is still out in MD. I wish they could catch him. Already he shot another person...

Like everyone else, I surely hope they catch this person soon. If I were living there, I have to admit I'd be scared. Maybe not that scared for myself, because I'd take precautions and learn to zig zag and stay in a lot or whatever it took, but I'd be terrified every time a family member went out. Especially grown children. I'd be sure they were not zig zagging and that they were gassing up with impunity.

I'm not going anywhere with this other than to point out the shadow of cryptic irony that's been observed following this case around that might make a blunderite go from head scratchin' straight on up to the eebie jeebies. The neighbor of the bus driver, Conrad Johnson, their last name is McClam. The man who is police chief of Charleston, SC, and college mentor of Chief Moose, his name just so happens to be Reuben. I refuse to accept that there's anything to this other than mere coincidence.

I'd guess that the sniper knows these areas like the back of his hand. Having lived in NoVa for 20 years, I recall that normal daily traffic congestion stops drivers at traffic lights for several cycles and you just don't get anywhere quickly. This person must know all the side roads, all the short cuts.
