It's 5:30 P.M. on Mon 4th and I'm listening to Lehrer (from your Fri night) they're disscussing the Debate, Sheilds and Brooks are on now. Everyones been raving on the radio news about how well he did!! Do you guys agree cos I didn't get to see it.

Louise, not only did Kerry mop the floor with him, but the debate seems to have caused an upsurge in voter registrations nationwide. This upsurge has to be a big negative for Bush and his cronies. Let's face it, the American voter at the margin (especially those who haven't voted in the past due to age or race) aren't likely to be Republicans.

Just finished watching Lehrer, and saw Kerry and Shrub back on the trail covering domestic issues. Kerry looked very confident. Shrub looked like he usually does (you know what I mean...) And the way Shrub has twisted Kerry's words from the debate( on pre- emptive strikes) in his new T.V. ads!!! How can people fall for that!!!
Gosh I wish I could be there when Kerry wins. You'll hear me screaming with JOY from across the ocean waves!!

I thought that the VP debate was close to being a tie, with a slight edge to Edwards coz his summation at the end was much better than Cheney's & coz Edwards looked charismatic on TV while Cheney looked uncomfortable. To go back to '60's TV comparisons, they looked like Col. Hogan & Col. Klink.

Remember, however, that of the 4 president/VP candidates, Cheney has by far the lowest approval rating of all. Both attacked effectively, but it's likely that most viewers simply didn't believe any of Cheney's attacks. Thus, I believe that to be successful last night, all Edwards had to do was tie, & he certainly did at least that.

At times Cheney reminded me of Mr. Potter in "It's a Wonderful Life." Now that's an apt image.

Didn't Cheney sometimes look like a turtle, pulling his head back into his shell?

When he was on the defensive, he seemed to shrink back, head down, hands up near his face... What could he be trying to hide? LOL

I thought it ended up with Edwards winning, but not by a large margin.

One commentator I was listening to said that for many of those sitting on the fence, the VP candidates are critical in their decision who to vote for. Now really, people, if anything were to happen to the president, one of these two would move into the White House... which one would you rather see there?

Bush got tough with Kerry in a campaign speech today. Unfortunately, nobody reminded him that it was too little and too late. He reminds me of a fighter who, after getting an ass-whipping, can't wait for a rematch so he can get beat again.

The format of Friday's debate is a "Town Hall" with pre-selected questions from the audience. I figure Bush will pull out "My Pet Goat" from his pocket and go into one of his patented seven-minute trances instead of answering any tough questions.

Jeez, I'll be glad when the American people speak on 11/2; at least this crap will be over.

We've got our big election here on Sat.We've had 6 weeks of campaining here and thats longer than usual here. People here are getting sick of it but good news is there seems to be alot of swing away from Little Johnnie.

I guess Bush supporters are gonna think that Bush won last night's debate, while Kerry supporters will think that he won the debate. It was close, & Bush was certainly better than he was the last time.

As I watched it, I thought it was about a tie, altho' Bush's answers had a strange quality about them, as tho' they were memorized by rote; he took odd pauses where he seemed to be groping for a word. As I thought about the debate later, I thought Kerry had more substance & a couple of Bush's answers were stupid. When Kerry explained that altho' he personally didn't believe in abortion as a Catholic, he felt that he couldn't legislate his religious beliefs on those who didn't share them, Bush responded by saying that he couldn't follow what Kerry had just said.

I was glad to see Kerry mention Halliburton a few times. Neither mentioned how he was gonna halve the deficit, but both spoke at length on how they would solve various domestic problems. It probably made many viewers wonder why Bush suddenly wanted to solve problems that he & his Congress didn't solve for 4 years.

Anyways...I won't be home to watch the next debate, but even if I was, I might not be watching it anyway, as it's starting to get a bit redundant.

Possibly Kerry didnt 'Perform' as well as he did in the 1st debate.
However, Jr.'s rebutals, at times when he'd have 1 1/2 mins, did any one notice on certain issues, he'd ask "Am I out of Time"?, "No Sir, you still have time left", So Jr. just strated Ramblin, not even attempting to actually 'Rebute' Sen. Kerry's comments. To me, it semed as though Jr. was answering w/ lotsa Uhum, aahh's hem-haawwin'-MMMM, well, "Its Hard Work'...I still feel,strongly, Jr.'s gotta go in '04
& This man actually holds a Degree of Higher Education, I do wonder how that event happened!{well w/exception, as to his Daddy}!

Hey have you been to Mike Moore's site lately? What a Hoot!! He's sure doing a great job!!

I listen to the radio all day at work (our "thinking persons" station)cos I work by myself most of the time and also like to keep informed. So little snippets of the debate was on today (Thursday) at 11 A.M. and I was getting reports on Bush answering questions by sprouting on about "no child left behind" and stuff. On the way home listening in the car they had Bruce Shapiro from The Nation on with a more in depth report and also how heaps of people are registering. They also had a story about how some states like Penn, are being sued in the supreme court for being too slow to send out Absentee Ballots to Americans overseas. I eagerly look in my mailbox (a fairdinkum U.S.Mail one) every day but am still waiting for mine! So gimme the Drum (Oz for the Poop)
