You don't know how great it is to be able to come to a place to read and talk about such interesting stuff when so many people I am aquainted with (co-workers,people met at social functions etc.) would roll their eyes and shake their heads because they can't or don't want to expand their brains. Occasionaly by throwing out a word or phrase one can find another "fish out of water" co-thinker, in any level of society! It's a Blunder Moment when you find one and can sit huddled in a corner away from The Madding Crowd and have a stimulating discussion.
Wonder how many "Closet Thinkers" are out there?? At 50 I've come to a point where I don't worry too much if people think I'm weird. And I tend to now say "no" alot and choose where or with whom to spend my time as I may have 30 or so years left at most and don't want to waste any.I prefer in general to commune with nature and become very irritated at times with the "General Public" and their Sheep mentality (or should that be Lemming?) GHOSH!! I didn't mean to sound so elitest or something? But I know you all know what I mean. It's just that ignorance at any level of society drives me crazy, but I'm learning to live and let live, live by example and not pontificate too much on my soap box,(as posted elswhere Joe gets the Pope Mobile 'coz he's Italian) except if something affects me or mine directly. O.K. That's my sermon for today. Take it or leave it. (I learn't that from Joe)

We just got home from a Bill Maher gig. He said so much that resonated with us--and resonated our diaphrams--mine hurts from laughing! One line (one of the clean ones) about the election:

Well, the people have spoken. We just didn't know it was going to be in tongues.

Edited to say this may seem to be off the off-topic topic, but it's not. There were almost a thousand people in that theatre in the middle of Dallas and they all LOVED Bill Maher. It was so great not to be in the minority for an evening, whether the topic was religion or politics or whatever. Usually the Church and these boards are the only places I feel like most of the people around me more or less agree with me about things.

Hey, PS!

Mi esposa & I brew our own beers and meads these days. Your little ditty from a few posts ago gave me an idea for the labels of the mead bottles.
"Druid Fluid Brew-ed in the Woo-ids" We live in a fairly wooded area of Connecticut in the foothills of the Berkshires (not too far from Arlo, really.) so the "woo-ids" fits, as well. Thanks for the inspiration! I'll raise my drinkin' horn to ya this Thanksgiving!

i wonder if i would drink something from a bottle called, "druid fluid"...i might, if the label on the bottle was perty enough. i can think of a few people who might actually back away...

"fleshy-headed mutant, are you friendly?" "no way, eh. ra-... radiation has made... me an enemy of civilization."---from the movie, "strange brew"
