There's a free (I like that! Free!) holistic magazine for New England called "Spirit of Change" that's distributed in various health, new agey, etc. shoppes what's latest edition had a question about the Age of Aquarius. Like what the heck happened to it? Ya know... peace, love, harmony & understanding! Seems like most of the planet has not gotten with the program! Remember the song from "Hair"?

"When the moon is in the Seventh House And Jupiter aligns with Mars
Then peace will guide the planets
And love will steer the stars.

This is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius"

I have a relatively open, but skeptical, mind when it comes to things metaphysical. But if you're into new agey, astrological stuff, the response had this to say:

The first Venus transit occurred in 2004 and the next one wlll be in 2012. Dr. Jose Arguelles, the scholar who brought to light the concept of Harmonic Convergence, also thinks that the enlightening Age of Aquarius will dawn on 2012."

Swell! "Purgatorial suffering"! Well, I can't argue with that too much! It's already off to a good start with Dubya's plan for democratizing the planet! ("Plan? What plan? I'm making this up as I go!" Han Solo said that, I think.) Great! Seven more years of this crap!

Well, that was another thing! While searching for the lyrics to "The Age of Aquarius" I came upon an astrological site that had something about Sir Issac Newton's interest in metaphysics. Somebody appears to have a bunch of Newton's papers on metaphysics in which he suggests that the biblical end of the planet is supposed to happen around 2064. I guess that means there will only be 52 years or so of peace, love, harmony and understanding. Well, that's better than nothin', I reckon!
