It's now being reported thet Bush is going to either lead or oversee an investigation into the governments failures in this disaster. I wonder if he's gunna have them remove the mirrors from the meeting room and ban the words "Crawford" and "Vacation" from any investigative proceedings?

Jay found this headline:

Bush Takes Responsibility for Blunders
September 13, 2005 9:20 PM EDT
WASHINGTON - President Bush for the first time took responsibility Tuesday for federal government mistakes in dealing with Hurricane Katrina and suggested the calamity raised broader questions about the government's ability to handle both natural disasters and terror attacks....

My sister-in-law saw that headline on CNN's website and emailed it to me with the subject line "Hell freezes over!" Then her son emailed a Bill Maher monologue from his HBO show about recalling the president. Check out the one from Sept. 9, 2005.

... at least, most blunderers don't.

We love you, anyway, Cheryl!

We love you too! I feel like we can all disagreeably agree on here. Maybe I'm to blame for Bush since I voted him in. LOL. I figure he's a busy boy & got so much to handle & could sure use some prayers. It's not easy being Prez I'm sure...

Most of us are grateful for a day or two off to go to the Church or the venue of our choice. A busy president wouldn't be "clearing brush." You're right, Cheryl, this is one that's most definitely not Arlo's fault, or Pete's, either.

Let's see here.... Stole the first election and was "appointed" president by the Supremes; second election was questionable as well (regard the electronic ballots from Ohio where many people reported voting for Kerry and had it register Bush!); sat stupified in front of a kindergarten class for a photo shoot while the Trade Towers, Pentagon & the Capitol were being attacked; started the war in Iraq via lies and deceit contrary to popular opinion and the rest of the world; responsible for the deaths of (as of now) almost 2000 of our service people and untold thousands of Iraqi civilians due to that war, not to mention the incredible rise in terrorism in Iraq itself as well as the rest of the world (re: the Madrid and London bombings, which may or may not be a direct result of Dubya's foreign policy but I'm willing to bet that it had a large influence); passed laws allowing industries to release greater quantities of air and water pollutants, basically undoing pollution standards for the past 35 years; and now there's Katrina (or is it hurricane "Korina" as his "detached-from-the-real-world" wife, Laura has repetedly called it?)!!! Days to prepare for the devastation that was predicted years ago and almost a week to respond (and pretty poorly to boot!). On the PBS show NOW, a New Orleans official said that Walmart had truckloads of food and bottled water into devastated areas days before FEMA even started to respond. Oh, and let's not forget Bush's cutting the funds to the Army Corp of Engineers to reinforce the levees in New Orleans. You know, the ones that failed and caused the city to flood? Pray for him?!?!? Pray for us to be delivered from him! The closest this dirtbag comes to any god is using one as an excuse to kill and invade (sounds a little like the terrorists, no?)! And he said it himself, if your not with him then you're with "the enemy". Well, I guess I know where that puts me! Guess I'm not a "patriot" under the Bush definition, either.

How much more do we take from this incompetent A-hole? What's it gonna take for some people to realize that this guy is not a good person? I guess all of the hundreds of thousands who are either dead, suffering or maimed, either through his misdeeds or inaction, aren't enough for you! Maybe if he stands on your front lawn, laughing, while ripping the heads off of baby bunnies? I do remember reading something about him branding people with red hot coat hangers at college hazings! Would that do it for you? Pray for him? Pray for the "fortunate son"? Pray for the guy who sends underequipped troops to die in a war started with lies while he jokes about not finding any WMD's? Pray for the smirking master of war and disaster? Yeah, right!

I'm pretty sure it was the fifth Tuesday, this past February...

This is a president who knows "Hard Work" - at least how to pronounce it...
