God got taken out of most of our Govt. schools years ago, if you want religion included in your childs education send them to a religion based school. Oz is basiclly a secular country now, tho most people would probably say they live by basic Christian values.

God loves everyone no matter who they are or whether they love him or not. Hope no one misunderstood me when I said I kinda agreed with Robertson. What I agreed with him on was the fact those folks got canned from the school board cuz of their beliefs & that was wrong...

As much as a loon, nut, repressive, Christianazi, closed-minded biggot that I think Robertson is, they did have a mention of him on PBS' "NOW" last night (11/11/05). It was a piece on big oil and how they're manipulating the market to make oil prices skyrocket. Well, it appears that Robertson & investors tried to buy a small California refinery a few years back. Small refineries, it appears, used to be able to help keep gas & heating oil prices down because they weren't controlled by the major oil companies. Robertson & company's bid to buy the small refinery was blocked by "big oil". He did, a few years ago, predict that allowing the big companies to control the refineries would lead to gas prices of over $3.00/gallon in a few years. So, the guy's not wrong all of the time!

But, Cheryl, I still think he's a doofus, and our public schools are no place to use as a soapbox for any religious doctrine. This country (in theory) was founded on the individual's freedoms, including religious. To use our government run schools as a platform for religious doctrine, no matter how well intentioned, is simply wrong.

My thing with this whole "Intelligent Design" thingy is that if it's being used simply as a tool to get some fundamentalist Christian BS into the schools, then it's wrong. Darwin wasn't preaching religious beliefs. His theory was based upon concrete physical evidence....something that pretty much every religious system lacks. The intelligent design yahoos are simply saying that, "Golly! Everything is soooo complex that, surely, something intelligent must have created it!" Well, guess what? If that were true then you'd need something even more intelligent to create the "intellegence" that designed everything. And then you'd need something even more intelligent that designed the intelligence that designed the intelligence that designed everything! Oh, but wait! Then you'd need something even more intelligent to design the intelligence that designed the intelligence that desined the intelligence.....well, if you don't get it by now, then,DUH!

How about a "Theory of Blunderism"? The Universe had all this stuff floatin' around in it, just bumpin' into everything else floatin' around....Blunderin', you might say, until somethin' Blundered into somethin' else that sort of fit together or got along with each other and made more Blundered stuff until eventually, planets Blundered together to form solar syatems. Then stuff on some of the planets Blundered together to form amino acids. Then some of them Blundered together and formed BDNA (Blundered-DNA) and life Blundered onto the scene. Eventually, the little Blundering single-celled organisms Blundered into each other so much that they formed multi-celled Blundering organisms. This kept going on and on until we had the basis of life as we know it. And so, today, the world keeps Blundering on, and we Blunder along with it.

I propose that we teach the Theory of Blunderism in schools! I, also, propose that we start the First Chuch of Blunderism to teach the doctrine of Blunderism and spread the word to all corners of the world. I propose that we make ADG the founder of the Blundermental Church and elevate him to the stature of Prophet! And we will write the Book of Blunder and send Blunderites forth unto the world to bring the joy and wonder of the Word of Blunder to all of it's peoples! Praise be to the Blunderers! Amen!

I remember sitting in a redneck barber shop when I was a kid in la (lower Alabama). There was a mirror in front of me, and a mirror in back of me. The end result was an infinite number of reflections of me and the barber that was giving me a crew cut. And what was that pink shit he put in my hair??
