We have lost another great icon of the civil rights movement, an advocate for peace and a great and graceful lady, Coretta Scott King.

From the press:

Coretta Scott King Dead at 78
By Elaine Woo, Times Staff Writer

Coretta Scott King, the dignified and determined widow of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., who assumed her murdered husband's burden as chief symbol of the civil rights movement and fiercely guarded his legacy — often in ways that drew pointed criticism — has died. She was 78.

King, who had heart problems and had suffered a major stroke in 2005, died during the night, her family said in a statement.

May God be with her family at this time. I recently saw her daughter on TBN & she was good. RIP...

The world has lost a brave and strong woman. She's one of the ones who "Went thataway," and some of us had the privilege to stand in the field and say so.
