If any of you ever wonder what those who have to scoop up the crap of shrubs pet dog think of Shrub, then you might find this site quite funny, www.private-eye.co.uk

It's one of, if not the best independant british political satire paper. They send Bliar up as a Vicar and the cabbinet as his parrish. This Fortnight it's on about Bliar's visit to your side.

Go to the St Albion link on the left side of the home page.

Hope you like it!

I don't like to bore people here with stuff from my local paper, but I just read this & thought it was interesting, even if you don't agree with him. Just don't dismiss him as a madman until you've read the last paragraph.

Chubby Checker wants a little (OK, a lot of) credit.

The place to get a didjeridoo is direct from "Down Under" at www.didjshop.com

They buy stock from Aboriginal sources who take only the dead trees hollowed out by termites. Their didjes are coated inside & out with a sealer as insurance against cracking, are issued serial numbers and come with a one year warranty. Part of the purchase price goes to replanting eucalyptus trees & back to the folks who invented 'em in the first place. And the company supports Aboriginal causes, as well.

They ship anywhere in the world. It took me less than a week to get mine here in Connecticut. You can choose grade (quality), plain or painted, and even what key you want one in! And sound files let you hear 'em, too.

These cool folks even encourage a one hour playing of didges at sunset around the world at the four solar holidays (equinoxes and solstices), a world wide didj meditation to send a wave of peace and sharing around our Mother Earth. Even if you don't want to play the didj, it's a cool site to check out.

I saw a Digeridoo somewhere awhile back & thought it was neat. It was more than I could afford at the time tho...

You can make one out of PVC for under $10. It won't sound exactly the same, lacks the aesthetics but it's cheap to make, fun to play & sounds okay. You can do all sorts of wierd stuff with PVC elbows & such, too. Here's a page that tells you how: http://www.rdrop.com/~mulara/learner.html

Personally, I've used 2-inch (I.D.) PVC pipe with a beeswax mouthpiece. The beeswax is comfortable on your lips and probably keeps you from the nasty plastic taste and ingesting who knows what from the plastic.

I've also made a "slider-i-doo" out of two aluminum tubes from a broken PA speaker stand. It sort of works like a trombone so you can change keys while playing it. Making noise is fun!

That sounds like Arlo lol. If I knew how to make one I'd probably try making a pvc digeridoo. People still laugh at my canjo (Can banjo) & think I paid money for something I could've made myself. But I have no idea how to make one lol...

Sorry to tell you this Cheryl, but it's Aboriginal custom that only men can play the Didjeridoo...

Interesting to see which went red or blue. I noticed some of the Reds were businesses I patronize & I patronize very few of the blue excpet I do go to Barnes & Noble. They can all go red & it's okay with me... <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/smile.gif" width=15 height=15>

Thanks Louise for that link!

I'm shopping at Barnes and Noble instead of Amazon from now on... and I'll switch to Shell gasoline... it was good to see my favorite airline, JetBlue, really IS blue!

for a clickable link... what you do is click on the button below the posting window that says url... then a little window will pop up... you fill in the text you want showing, enter, then fill in the web address - copy and paste is easiest for that, to avoid errors...

Buy Blue

or you can just paste in the web address... http://www.buyblue.org/ ... and it should work
