And RadicalBro Cliffite, you were a Uni? I like their live and let live stuff and a couple of weeks ago I read a book, by a Liberal Quaker, that I picked up for$1:50 from one of those cheap variety stores. I like the Quaker simple life /pacifist stuff. So if you leave out the believing in "God" stuff I guess I could say I'm a UniQuaker who believes in the spirit/energy of nature. Did you know that Quaker Oats is nothing to do with Quakers? (They are actually called 'Friends'others started calling them Quakers) They just called it that and put that Quaker looking guy on the pack to make the product look all warm and friendly.(but most of you probably already know this)All that time eatin' Quaker Oats as a kid in Oregon I thought that kindly man was a real Quaker and that those lovely peace lovin' people made my oats! I was even happy when they started sellin' Quaker Oats here in OZ! SHeeeeeeeesh it's like finding out Santa isn't real..or the Easter Bunny...(they are aren't they???....Joe?)

I prefer locally organic oats now anyhow!!

That is neat about the Quaker Oats. I had no idea that dude wasn't really a Quaker. I'm a Christian & a Presbyterian one. The stuff you learn on here...

I too have recently converted to the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster and I assume that at such time as I get back to the Guthrie Center I can bring it along. Pastafarian...I missed that one. Excellent!

With my usual Piscean mess of contradictions, I came out strong secular humanist/Unitarian Universalist, then liberal Quaker and neo pagan. All of that is, apparently, Tangled up in Blue Pasta. What fun--a new god to bring to the Church ...with feelin' and parmesan!

Very cool, Pitts Joe, I've always related to Dylan's, "it takes a lot to laugh, it Takes a Train to Cry" especially Leon Russel's version/cover.
For those w/ looong memories, Larry & Nathen & I, back in 2002, i think, invented the religion of "Selective Obliviosity', The art of identifying what part of what you don't know, is unknowable, so you can get on with what you do know and learn of what you don't and can't...ya know...???
At this moment, I don't know what that has to do with anything, so, I guess I'm practicing it..need more coffee...
