We've packed our bags, we're ready to go...and we're getting sleet and snow all night and tomorrow morning. Our plane's scheduled for 11:30 tomorrow morning. We get 2-3 days of snow (or less) a year, and it has to be now!!!

I really need help! Everybody, get out your (or borrow a) hairdryer, point it toward Texas at 11:00 tomorrow, and turn it on! Of course, the eastern seaboard and other parts of the country will black out, but I'm really desperate.

Seriously, we'll get there one way or another, I'm sure, but warm thoughts will help.

Have camera, tape recorder, and pad for set list; will do my best.

I think you should expect a lot more snow in Texas now that your biggest source of hot air moved from Austin to Washington D.C.!

Larry, I'll pass that along to my favorite local meterologist. Maybe her predictions will be more accurate the rest of the winter with this variable in her calculations. As for me, after pondering what you said, I'm laying in a cord of wood instead of a half cord.

Fitzy and Pat, Jay and I thank you. We're already off work, that's a good start on a good anniversary celebration.

Pat, it's helping already--thanks! So far the snow has stayed west of us and the sleet is completely ringing the metropolitan area, but it's just rain within that. And the temps are a couple degrees higher than they thought they would be by this time. The power of one Blunderite and her hair dryer is truly an amazing thing.

Good luck with making it to the show. I've been lucky in that I've never had snow to threaten a show yet. Once after a Birchmere show there was a small bit of snow on the tops of cars the next morning & once on the way to a gi in NC was ice early that AM... The weather report this morning is: "Due to a strange and unexplained cone of warm air apparently originating in Long Island, New York, the expected snow and sleet have stayed to the west, and the high today will be 33 degrees instead of below freezing. The cone of warm air envelopes both DFW and St. Louis, where predictions of freezing rain and snow have also been canceled."

larry, have you ever been in d.c. in the summertime? just wondering, because having any additional and major sources of hot air there ... well, think what that does to the summertime weather there. It's built on a swamp, after all. Of course, it can make for mild winters, too. That can be a plus -- unless you're into skiing, of course.
