My life has been in turmoil for some time now... and I'm feeling especially down right now...

I have had problems with other members of the Woodstock Preservation Alliance, and as a result resigned from the Board... that's a bummer, because I've devoted the last two years of my life to this cause.

Also in a related situation, my relationship with Wayne (HomerJ) has changed, and I now feel that the friendship I had hoped to maintain with him cannot be.

I know I'll come out of this a stronger person, but it really sucks going through it.

Meanwhile, as I've said before, I think I'll hang out here, with the sane people!

I love you guys...

~Wyld

Hey Wyld, I'm sorry things are a trying for you now, but things will get better. They always do. Have confidence in that. Blundervibes seem to be incredible things for times like these, so I'm sending some your way - (hopefully they help). And even though it seems bad at the time, change is a wonderful thing. Try not to see these changes as doors closing, but new ones opening. Anyways, I'm not too good at this stuff, but I wanted you to know people are thinking of you and sending good thoughts out to you. Have a good one. Ters

Wyld,
When i got on the site just now, this was the ADG quote: "You can't have a light without a dark to stick it in." - ADG
You are a beautiful person who is in the dark part of life at the moment, but the light's in there, too; you'll have to find it again, though. I'm sending back some of the vibes you've sent me when I was in the middle of chaos and despair. I've been tending them carefully, and they are full of love and support.

I have heard that if life hands you a lemon, Make lemonade, Tonight Im looking for tequela and some salt to go with the lemon.

But seriously, (let me step out of the HomerJ persona for a moment), There are times that we hope for best of the best in our lives, but for whatever the reason, reality falls short of our hopes, prayers and dreams, That does not mean that we should stop hopeing or stop praying nor should we ever stop dreaming.

Look to this day,
For it is life,
The very life of life.
In its brief course lie all
The realities and verities of existence,
The bliss of growth,
The splender of action,
The glory of power -

For yesterday is but a dream,
And tomorrow is only a vision,
But today, well-lived,
Makes every yesterday a dream of happiness
And every tomorow a vision of hope.
Look well, therefore to this day.

Hope all is well with everyone today and that all of you fathers out there got to have a good chat with your kids. I definitely tried with my father today (tried being the key word there). Needless to say, it didn't go as hoped which is why I'm posting here.
My pops and I don't quite see eye to eye on life anymore and that's a difficult thing for me. It mostly comes from a very strained relationship between his wife (not my mother) and myself and I guess we're still searching for a common ground around that. Anyways, it's a funny, or not-so-funny, thing when all you want to do is tell your dad you love him and appreciate him, but hostile words and relationships get in the way from someone who shouldn't even be in the conversation and it all goes to hell.
So enough of this sitting in sorrow and regret. It doesn't do any good anyways. Just had to vent. And I do hope you all are having a beautiful evening.

Hey Wyld, how are things going for you? I'm still sending blundervibes your way!

Ters...

Sending some recycled Blundervibes your way... I am so thankful that I get along well with my family, I can imagine how difficult it must be for you.

(You should be aware that recycled Blundervibes are even stronger than new ones! They have been tempered by fire!)

The vibes I have been receiving (from you Blunderful folks and from my family and other friends) have been helping me tremendously. I know that I will be a better person, coming out of this trial.

I'm sending lots of Blundervibes to anyone else out here who is feeling down.

Peace, Love, Music & (((((((HUGS))))))))

Wyld, many blundervibes to you. (You're absolutely right about recycled blundervibes--and there's always plenty to go around.)

Ters, blundervibes to you too. It's hard to get past old hurts and resentments, especially face-to-face, even when what you want most is to regain a relationship. Think about writing a letter--what you said in your post, "Dad, I love you and admire you." Trust me on this, it's never too early to say what you really feel--but it can certainly be too late.

I wish I had let my dad (a stepdad who was truly a father to me and my brother) know how very much he meant to me. I had intended to when I visited that year at Christmas (10 years ago)--he died unexpectedly of a heart attack right before Thanksgiving. I missed my chance. Please don't miss yours.

Yes, a letter or email is a great way to open doors to communication. I finally did that about 7 years ago. He was angry with me for being pregnant! I was married, we had 2 kids (ages 8 and 10) and were in the process of buying a house (finally). His anger was based in what would eventually become reality, that he'd be the one supporting all of us while my husband "looked" for a job. He even paid for the first semester of college for my husband (hubby graduated last week with a degree in Business Admin).

Anyway, I finally one day wrote him a letter and enclosed the words to Reba McIntyre's song Greatest Man I'll Never Know. Maybe it was my letter, or the sentiment of the song, or maybe he just got tired of being so angry all the time (he did have to deal with a lot with my mother's death back in 88).

Things are great with my dad now. He actually bought me my first computer, calls all the time for long-distance tech support and even paid me to come down to Phila to set up a new system for him! Well, actually, I only wanted gas money, but he gave me $30!

He drove up here for my graduation last year from college, but this year he's just too old and sick to drive, so he missed my 2nd graduation and his oldest grandson's high school graduation, but he emailed both of us and sent us real cards.

Ters, if you make the effort and it doesn't change anything, then at least you know you did your best and the rest is on him. But you need to open that door.

My heart is with you. I know all too well how much "things" can get in the way.

Best wishes,
Terrie

Found this ADG quote when I came online this afternoon:

"Everything about you that is not happy is not you. Being yourself is being lost to the delusions of others." - ADG

...and I wanted to let people know that I am more myself than I have been in a long time. Still losing some of those delusions others placed around me, but definitely improving.

BTW... I got a ticket to the July 13 Troubador show, and for the October 5 show... Blunder on!

Many blundervibes to Ters and to her dad!
And to the other family members who are placing their delusions around this situation. Ters, you will find your way through this!
