1989 was the last time Coastal North Carolina got any real snow.
Christmas Eve, that year, we got 36 inches and the whole county was closed down for almost two weeks.
Tonight we have been "promised" at least 8 inches of the white, wet stuff and if the weather system from the South makes it in time, we could be adding 3 or more inches to that!

You people who live where snow is a normal event would get a kick out of the emergency alert system in place right now....before even one flurry has fallen.

Schools, government , etc for tomorrow are all closed and stores are jammed with paniced people who are buying all the bread and milk, etc available for miles.
What a hoot.
I'll let you all know if this snow really comes to be....It's been a long time since we've seen a white beach!

Snow south of Cape May, NJ should be illegal. Actually, for my part...Snow south of MASS. should not be allowed...and then when it's in MASS. - It should NEVER in May!!!! (right Judy?)
Have fun Kitty, if you like it!!!

I went to Cape May once in the 60's. What a hoot!

I heard it was supposed to snow in Nags head. They will get it worse than us here in VA. It's snowing here now...

It's snowing here (Chapin,SC) now and it is beautiful. We're only supposed to get an inch or so and it looks like we're close to that already.

Snow shouldn't be allowed ANYWHERE in May, Regina, let alone Massachusetts. But then, they don't call them the Berserkshires for nothing!

Wow, Kitty! Glad to know you're doing OK down there, even if you're snowed in. Got anything cooking in a crockpot?

Ahhhhh....isn't it beautiful, Bob??!!

Almost 4 inches here and not expected to stop till late this afternoon.
Ocracoke Island, Hatteras and Morehead City (Carteret County) expected to be the "hardest hit", (hee hee...)
I know....you people North and West of us "been there done that" ....

but here....well, it is a once in a decade thrill!
On the local news, the newscasters are warning folks to "seriously bundle up" if planning on sleigh riding.
I guess they're just being dramatic since there are no hills to ride down.
And I bet sleds are few and far between in this area too!
(I wonder if we could slide down the dunes....?? hmmmm....)

No Judy, I decided to wait a few years before buying another crockpot after you threw out my last one,
Do have some Turkey stew on the stove for later....come on down and have supper with us!!

Gale force winds, 35 to 40 mph are whipping the white stuff around like crazy and the surf is up to about 8 feet.
Gonna try to walk to the beach later and take some pictures.

Your right Kitty. The snow is more than Beautifull!!! Each & every snowfall is differant than the last.

*I think that's how they coined the phrase, "It's nice if your inside, looking out"!!! That must be a Yankee slang...

HAVE-FUN

Emmy, you must go out and make snow angels, take pictures and get really cold, so mom, remember mom, she sings songs, so anyway so mom can fill you up with hot drinks and soup.
