About 1:30 this afternoon a chemical plant located about 45 miles North of the beach exploded, cause unknown.
The injured are being trsansported to hopsitals as far away as Duke.
Approximately 200 physicians and nurses on the scene and any / all physicians within a 5 hour radius are being asked to help out if possible.
At 6:00 the fire is still raging, so hot that water is doing little to help.
Roads clogged, school kids in "lock down" and families frantically trying to locate their loved ones.
Chemical based smoke has reached as far as Greenville and evacuation of a 5 to 10 mile circumference is mandatory.
Please keep these people in your prayers.

Strange but true, I thought I had read about this happening in our daily paper which had arrived at noon, and I thought it odd that two such accidents would happe in one day, weird but when I went to see how the paper had reported it before it happened, it wasn't in the paper. I have no idea where I must have heard of it or read it, but it certainly wasn't in the paper, I mean how could it have been? So how did I know about the accident before reading it on the web? I have no idea.

... Nathen... was there a cat sitting on your newspaper when you picked it up by your front door this morning? (Did you ever see the tv show "First Edition"... where the guy gets tomorrows news... then has to go and try to fix it so some bad things don't happen... and the paper changes as he fixes things...

Kitty... I wish you well in this difficult situation. I am praying for all those affected by the explosion.

That must be it Wyld, the story I read was sort of the same but a little different, I just scanned it, but the heading was Pharmicuital (sp) factory explodes in NC,two dead. So then I read about this chemical company and I thought gee wiz what is happening, so I wanted to compare the two and where ever I read about it, it was gone forever.

We were in SC when this happened, and it was all over the news there. Prayers for all those involved. <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/peace.gif" width=16 height=16>
