I'm in need of some blundervibes to help me get through this move...

At this point, it looks as though some of the help I had lined up may not come through, and along with that help, the truck may not be available either...

My daughter, Alida, who has been living with me has been NO help in getting ready, and in fact she still hasn't packed any of her stuff. I don't know how she expects this to work, although I've told her over and over, exactly what needs to be done to get ready. My stuff is pretty much ready to go, in spite of constantly tripping over her stuff.

My other daughter, Elf, is coming on Sunday to help with the move (a two hour drive for her to get here) but my son may not be able to come. Elf is trying to convince him that he needs to do this for me.

I'm calling my sister on Long Island to see if there is any help available from there, and I'm checking out renting a u-haul. And I'm sending weather-cooperation prayers up... we're supposed to get snow and ice tonight starting at midnite... NO SNOW, NO SNOW, NO SNOW!!!

Your thoughts would be appreciated... I'll let you know how things progress....

Blundervibes are on their way Wyld. Moving is so not a good time. The last time I moved it was with laundry baskets. Fill 'um up at one place and create caos in the next. Not a recommended moving style.

Larry... this is an Elf who has been set free (I gave her some clothes - if you have read Harry Potter, you know what I mean.) heehee... But at least she is willing and able to help a bit!

Thanks for the good thoughts... the person with the truck may come thru after all... but still looking at other possibilities. Meanwhile, though, I know I'll have to take Monday off from work anyway... though I'll probably wish that I hadn't! I'm here for another hour today... should have taken today off instead!

Well, I'm glad you are getting help from your Elf. You seem to be one of the few lucky ones that is not having elf trouble.
That's part of what's wrong with this country nowadays.....you can't find hardworking elves anymore! I have had so much trouble in this area, that I have in fact switched to gnomes.
I tried munchkins, but they waste a lot of time singing and dancing and stuff. I leave the tv on in my house alot too, and the munchkins were often scared silly when Martha Stewart came on the tv. They would huddle and shiver in the closet saying "It's the witch! It's the witch!" Yup, gnomes are the way to go.

Tomorrow is saturday, take items not packed and put out sign saying YARD SALE, items not packed, will not be moved and they will not need to be unpacked, plus you make some money in the deal......I always take a direct path when dealing with children.
