blundervibes and prayers needed

hi folks..ken and i are visiting our friend shirley in houston and we just found out that her dad took a turn for the worse overnight. he just had surgery and was doing really well and no one is quite sure what happened, but he is now in icu and can use all the love, prayers and blundervibes you guys can muster.

Just finished talking on the phone and IM'ing with Sherry. No new news about Shirley's Dad, but she thought people would like to know his name so they know who they're praying for. His name is Sterling Hornsby. I talked to Shirley, too, and she, her Dad, and the whole family could use a whole lot of love right now. I know you guys are really good at delivering that, so go do what you're good at!

howdy folks....well we do work fast, dont we! got a call during the gig (did i mention we were in houston to see sarah and johnny?) [how did we ever live without vibrating cell phones, anyway?] and it seems that shirley's dad had sprung a leak and they took him back into surgery to plug him. (he's a navy man...the english translation is that he needed more stitches cause something was leaking where it shouldnt have been)...

the news was a bit more hopeful when we left the gig than when we went in...shirley is leaving in the morning for dallas....and we are back in lake charles...ken has to leave for work in 3 hours and we just got in.

i guess that covers everything but the gig...details will have to wait but it was (of course!) wonderful!

thanks for the help and keep it up! i'll let you know anything i find out.....

wow, that initial batch of prayers was certainly fact acting. sending along prayers and blundervibes that the latest surgery fixed everything, so that he continues to improve and is home soon!

howdy....i havent heard from shirley today....but she said she'd call if the news was bad and that 'no news was good news'...so i'm assuming that things are as good as they can be...and if i hear anything i'll post..but i'm going out of town for a few days...so i may be a bit behind the news.

we sure do work well as a group....go figure! (herding cats, indeed!)
