certainly not in my house...
and for the record, I've seen what members of the coven can do to a chonklit cake, and in less time than it took to blow out the candles no less!!! <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/eek.gif" width=15 height=15>

ok..now i'm just being my usual loopy self....

we are off to the stephen foster folk festival in florida to see arlo and all the other cool stuff that this festival has to offer....so dont think i'm not posting because something is wrong...i'm very happy that i'm feeling well enough to go!

i have a dr's appt on wed evening at 5:15 and will hopefully get results to the tests etc and i'll let you all know what happens...

these new meds seem to be helping and the side effects are a lot more tolerable than past meds they have tried me on. (they made me feel worse than i already did!)

that's the news from here...
have a great holiday weekend everyone and thanks for all the extra love and support through all this!

next week we are back to focusing on mom!
argh!!!

<img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/smile.gif" width=15 height=15> sherry

the next installment....lol

howdy folks ....here's the latest word on the street...

the doctor has decided....(imagne my surprise) that my crohne's disease is acting up! can you say DUH!

unfortunately, he is putting me on prednisone (a steroid) and i will be taking a fairly high dose for a number of months and then even when i'm stable it will take 3 more months to taper off the drugs...and i still have to take the other 16 pills a day!

my colon is happy as a clam but my small intestines are a mess. there are constrictions and blockages and narrowings and inflammations etc.

so i cant avoid the steroids and i have to follow up in either ma or la depending on where i am. i have an appt in ma at the end of this month and one in la in the middle of august when i have to be there for another follow up appt on something else!

the schedule for my mom is as follows: 7:15 monday she is to be back at the women's imagine center for them to mark the original place of the biopsy. then it's across the street to nuclear medicine for them to inject the dye and wait 45 minutes or so until it travels where it needs to go. (we can keep her company for that part). then it will be onward and upward to surgery.

ken arrived in ga late last night and we decided to get a decent night's sleep and leave for ma on friday morning instead of today. we will hit the road around 6 am.

the bright spot in all this is that we are kidnapping rene's 10 year old (tina) and she will keep our spirits up for the next 2 weeks until rene's leave starts and he picks her up on his way to new hampshire. she is a great kid and loves to help out so i'll have an extra pair of hands at the house and someone else to keep mom company as well!

the festival in florida was wonderful but very hot and humid. listening to arlo and stetson kennedy tell stories about woody was a wonderful experience. the music and dancing were fabulous and the fact that i was well enough to be there was really the true gift.

thanks again to all of you for keeping me, mom, and ken in your hearts, thoughts and prayers. it means the world to all of us and i know it makes a difference! i promise to try to stop needing the extra 'help' soon and we can all turn our attention to other important things (like the mets!)

hugs all around,
sherry

Geez it sure took your doctors long enough to tell you what you already know! Glad that you're doing okay, though. Continuing blundervibes heading in your direction, with a detour to Flushing Meadow on the way! And more b-vibes heading to Joyce as well.

See you soon... lots of love!

Six months on steroids! I thought I had it bad being put on Warfarin for six months for my DVT. Good luck with your meds, I hope you don't get too many side effects.

Remember that I'm thinking of you and your mum and wish you both the best of health. <img src="http://www.arlo.net/ubb/smilies/smile.gif" width=15 height=15>

((((hugs and vibes))))

And I thought I've been busy lately ... you take my breath away!

So glad you enjoyed the concert and company (I can't wait until October!!!) ACTUALLY August (Arlo 20 minutes from my house!!!! But that's another thread).

Steroids and a gajillion other pills a day are a major hassle, but I'm sure it beats being doubled over in pain. Glad that your illness won't get in the way of being with your mom--and with your helper, spirit-lifter, along maybe things won't be so bad.

Blundervibes continue for as long as you need them. Hugs back at you (and to your mom and Ken and spirit-lifter).
