...so it was a sell out show in a sell out week...and of course a wonderful night....
....Passim's is a legendary folk music venue, in the East and probably nationally.....and many of its gigs are with newer talent that kind of grow up there and move on....sometimes becoming "famous" in the folk music world, like Ellis Paul.....but at least becoming visible....that reflects its roots in the original Club 1147 in the 60's where arlo, joan, bob and name a few others hung out on a regular basis....all pretty "unknown" at the time.....
.....so you can sorta feel the folk history there and it's a great place to go see anyone.....very intimate, great sound, friendly folks.....and all the more special with the Guthries...for a seldom heard 5 nights....all sold out, of course....

....the stage is about 1/3 the size of the Guthrie Center, but they managed to bring on Arlo, Abe, Sara and Johnny, Gordon Titcomb and alot of extra instruments...and performed a great set (to be posted in the next day or two i promise).....with a swept away audience......and the love was flying around everywhere......awesome....

....arlo got into his stories more as the night went on ... and the audience loved it.....i especially love the "He went thataway" story...which is clearly increasing in length....and getting funnier, too.....

...musically, the nicest surprise was that everyone is learning how to pick if they didn't know already.....even abe, on the keyboard....they each took a turn showing where they were at with it....and then put it all together....
it was great!!....

...thanks so much to Arlo, Abe, Johnny and Sarah, and the most beautiful Olivia, who would play if she could.....and Gordon.....for another great time....

...come back soon and often....and you know, like, stay for awhile....boston loves y'all.......

I won't see y'all in Staunton or Roanoke (I spent too much time travelling up and down 81 for the four years Laura was attending VA Tech...I really dislike driving it..and I didn't wish to do the 8 hour Roanoke-Philly drive!!) but I'll see some of you in Philly, Dover and Annapolis. Looking forward to it!!
