...is coming out October Fifth. Looks to be a good read. In an interview I read about the book ( http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6100668/site/newsweek/ ), he also mentioned he's got some songs toward a new album.

Incidentally, R.E.M.'s new album is coming out the same day. They're by no means folk (although a fan of social-commentary music, like much folk is, would probably like their rather incisive political music from albums like Document), but I still love 'em. Gonna hafta pick up both of those releases. It seems I spend all of my money on music and music-related things.

He's also on the front cover of Newsweek this week. Mike pointed it out to me in the bookstore the other day...

The Newsweek article was very good, but the excerpt from the book they printed was enticing and compelling enough to make me order it from Amazon immediately. (Good price, and if you order the new Woody book too, you get free shipping.) The portion they printed was about the crazy part of fame - his frustration at being annointed a prophet and the voice of a generation when all he wanted to do was write songs and be a Daddy & husband. Ya, sure, so us Minnesotans are like that ya know - like ta keep a low profile, don't cha know. [ Except maybe when Arlo comes to town - then we wanna meet him but get real shy in the process...]

Sounds like a WONDERFUL book!! I just started RAMBLIN' MAN so think I better finish one before the next . Has anyone read that yet?? ....Hey Santa?? Know what I want for Christmas??

For French fans (like me, hey hey) using this forum, Bob Dylan's autobiography is going to be released in France in may 2005, only (I don't think I can wait that long!!!).

Rosasharn, why don't you try B.Dylan's page its self www.bobdylan.com , I think thats it. I orderd my copy from there, I should have my copy by the end of the month at the latest and I'm in England. I'm nearer to you than I the States so I don't see why you wouldn't get a copy this month either.

Or look at amazon.com - it's listed under the French portion of their site, but I can't remember enough of my 6th grade French to read what it says about dates of availability in France.

Cyndy, I know you will enjoy 'Ramblin' Man'! I just finished it a month or so ago, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it, as I found some of it difficult to believe! Lemme know! But it was a good read! Enjoy~~

I just went to the Bob Dylan website, and found a link for a clip from the Chronicles book about Bob's visit to Arlo's house (listed below). I have read/heard the story by Arlo previously, and it was interesting to hear the story from Bob side. They don't seem to differ that much. Enjoy the clip.

Bob Dylan must stop denying that he was the voice of a generation. Bob, that's not something you get to decide. It's fate and you were it. If your generation could actually pick a voice, don't you think they'd have picked a better one than yours?
