Hi all,
I am a HUGE fan of Arlo Guthrie and have one of the 30 Arlo Guthrie 30th Year Limited Edition Martin guitars. What a beautiful guitar. I would love to find the owners of the rest of them and see if we can't get them all registered in one place OWNERS/LOCATION and keep track of where they are. I have one of the 12 string models and I'm looking to buy a 6 string version. Martin built 15 of the six string and 15 of the 12 string. If you have or know anyone selling or that just owns one of these please let me know and I'll add the name and location to a master list. Who knows, if the list can be completed maybe Arlo will even post it on the site

January 27, Orlando, Florida, Downtown Disney at the guitar shop there...very high up on the wall were two 000028H AG models...a six string and a 12 string. Looked like new unplayed instruments, and seeing as they were high enough out of most people's reach, and no step ladders in sight, I'm betting that these guitars don't get handled much. They were asking full retail...$4,999.00 each. Most regular guitar shops discount 40% off retail on new Martins, so they're a bit pricey. But hey, if you've got a spare chunk of cash burning a hole in your pocket, go for it...they're beautiful!

Sue, I was in the same shop in Disney in the late summer of 2001.
I saw this nice looking 12 string, peeked into the sound hole, and said to myself "that Arlograph looks familiar to me"! Since I was just peeking around, until I saw that, I had no idea what it was. So, drooled for a while, and then went on my way with wife and daughter to do Disney stuff........sans new 12 string.

I'd love to own one but they are waaay out of my price range. I can dream tho...

The crew at the Orlando store have always been great about letting me play anything on the wall. They only ask that they be the one to take things down. I don't know if these can be considered 'new' as much as I've played them, although the 12 string model is now in a glass case, probably my fault.
My wife and I have a standing joke on Thanksgiving where we go into the store, she'll ask if I'm ready to leave, and I'll say "just one more song." I'll let you fill in the blanks as to what song I start after that, but sometimes it does get a chuckle out of folks in the store.

I like to try out the guitar at Guitar Center & Sam Ash. Lust time there. LOL...

I think somebody might have broke the one I saw. When I played it, it didn't sound anything like Arlo at all.

Oh, I thought it was just me... I never thought to check the guitar...

I thank you very much. I would like to post this but I'm new to the AG board and not sure how to. I called Disney and they still have the guitars and I think I'm going to buy the 6 string. Unfortunately it is #27 of 30 but beggers can't be choosers? They agreed to discount it 20%. Not to mention I know have two more AG's tracked and booked! Thank you so much Sue.

I know a few of 'em own Arlo model guitars!
It's a great website with a lot of really nice people and good players. There's something of interest for every guitar player there. Some of those folks I've met in person! Flocks of us gather in the Nazareth area (about 150 last year!) in August and spend three days or so playing and singing and talking and playing each other's Martins and just having a fabulous time together. There's usually a factory tour involved, and I have to say, the Martin company has been extremely kind to us. They even put a picture of us in the current Sounding Board, their newsletter that you can see on the web on Martin's site, or pick up at music stores for free. (I'm in a teal green t-shirt, on the left of center) One of the highlights last year was at the open mic session at the Nazareth Borough Park (close to the factory) after the tours, where we had El McMeen and Martin's Dick Boak play for us as a duo. Sweet!.

Hi Sue, and thanks agian. I just bought the AG 6 String right off the wall. I'm Thinkin about grabbin the 12 but gotta check the pocket bood first.
Jeff and HEY Arlo if ya really do read these your the greatest and so is the 0000-28, never tried one before yours. I always played the 000-18. I am a born again 0000-28 player!

That's cool Sue got to me in their newsletter. I'd love to own a Martin but they are well out of my price range. So I plug along with my used Giannini or Mikes Ephiphone...

Sue (and everyone else), Nazareth (Martin Guitar) is "just up the road" from where I live. If you're "in the area" be sure to let me know. Maybe we can all get together.

Activezz, you've got some company...I've got a 000028H. It doesn't have any special pearl appointments (like circles and arrows) but it's a good player. It was also a little easier on the pocketbook since at the time it was a standard model, and the store discounted 40%. They're not a current model anymore, but Elderly Music in Michigan special orders the 000038 (formerly M38) and usually has new models in stock. They might also have the 000028H; I think they like those, too, and try to keep a few around. The 0000 body guitars are just terrific...when I was shopping locally five years ago,I gave the guy at the guitar store my price range, and told him to just bring me guitars to try...I didn't even look to see what they were. I kept coming back to the 000028H because it sounded so good and balanced, the neck felt good (I have really small hands!) so it followed me home.
