Not quite sure where best to post this...

I spoke with George Laye (at the Church) this morning. His Mom passed away early today, in the nursing home in Florida where she had been residing for some time. It was expected, but George is, needless to say, in need of some loving blundervibes.

I don't have any of the details, except that George is going to Florida early on Saturday. When I know anything more, I will pass the information along to you.

I just sent an email to George, but if you're going to print out these posts, I'd like to add something here too.

George, I know how much it hurts. No matter how prepared we think we are, when it happens it's really hard to take. Lance and Michael and I love you and are here for you if you ever need to talk.

Love you, big blunderhugs,
Terrie, Lance and Michael

So sorry to hear about your mother's passing, George. Having lost a parent myself in the last year, I know it's a tough thing to go through. Big hugs! Sue

George - I am so sorry to hear about your mother. I remember last year sometime (not at an Arlo concert), I was at the Church and we were upstairs looking around. It was the first time I was upstairs. We chatted about your mom. I know that she knew how much you loved her. May her beautiful memories bring you comfort.
Gentle hugs,
Cyndy

I can assume she was a great mom, because she raised a great son.

I just had email from George. He said that the funeral service for his mom was beautifully touching. She was put to rest at the same church she what christened in... St. Patrick's in Havre de Grace MD.

Briefly... here is the end of the email I got from George:

Quote:
...please tell folks how much I appreciate all of the compassion and support I received from everyone and I'll get on that chat thing and write them when I return.....this has been a most difficult time and I appreciate and love you all. God Bless you all, Love George

Thanks Wyld ... for posting that!! :) I was just thinking about George today and wondering how he was doing. He has been in my thoughts and prayers. He's such a nice man! I wanted to send him a card ... do you think I should send it to the Church??

Thanks for asking, Cindy. Yes, if you mailed a card to the Church, I'm sure he would get it.
