This is a coincidence---I was just at a Deadhead board where I mentioned that it was Jack's birthday on a Jerry Garcia birthday thread, & now I get to do it the other way around.

Since the chances of me getting to Memphis and New Orleans are somewhere between slim and none and tending toward the latter, what's the best way to tell which way Ramblin' Jack is headed? I sure would like to hear him one of these days.

WOW Jack is 74.........GO JACK........for Christmas (or Xmas suite yourself ) I got the Jack DVD Folk Guitar instruction.......thing.....and his daughter's documentary on him (wouldn't it be GREAT if one of Arlo's kids did that on him ).......they are BOTH awesome........I love especially the instruction one even though I will never play guitar. You feel like you are just setting there with Arlo and Jack while they play.....beautiful.

No sooner did I set up a brand new group on Yahoo, than I discover this place which seems to be doing a pretty fine job too

Member no.2 is the webmaster of http://www.ramblinjack.com who has sent an audible sigh of relief that the, er, somewhat clunky and hard to find bulletin board on Jack's otherwise absolutely superb web-site can be finally put out to pasture.

My credentials? Jack's been my hero for over 40 years, and I was astonished to find Jack as our house-guest in 2004 for 3 weeks. Acted as de facto tour manager on an interstate jaunt to Canberra, too. I was the guy discretely bringing him his "cup of tea" onstage whenever the voice started sounding a little dry. What a month that was!
