With tears in my eyes, I have to report that the first real backyard show we've had in a while isn't happening. When I went to purchase tickets, the show wasn't on the theater's website. I figured I got shut out. That would have been ironic. After covering hundreds of miles to see Arlo all over the NE, not to get tickets to a show that's 15 minutes away. Or maybe it was a private thing, not open to the public. That would be understandable. But no...the theater said it's just not happening.

I don't know the reason. There can be a lot of different reasons for a show not to come together. I do hope that Arlo can make one happen there sometime, though. It's a great little 1100 seat theater with a long history. It was a vaudeville house, then a movie theater, then there was a kind of flea market occupying it and then it was nothing at all. Now it's a little gem and it's helping to revitalize the downtown of an old village that's becoming interesting again.

Just in case ADG reads this and his people consider booking him there in the future - it's fairly far out on Long Island, but not "out east" and it's a LOT less hassle to get to than the Hamptons, which I know wasn't fun. For anyone. Patchogue also has the distinction having the highest Deadhead population in Suffolk county. There are some really interesting characters living there - at least so far. It's getting more expensive just like everywhere else.

So, I'll live. I'll get to other shows and to tell the truth, local blundering isn't as much fun because I don't know many people at the local shows (unless Arnie shows up), but I'd love to see performers of Arlo's caliber making Patchogue a regular stop.

The theater thinks it's off. I sent you a PM with what details I know - which aren't many. I don't know if you ever read PMs or anything, but it should be there. It'd be so great if it could be back on. Please keep us posted.

Hi again, adg. I just checked my sent messages and there's nothing there so maybe I didn't send one. It would be understandable if you're not set up to get them. In any case, the theater definitely thinks the show is off. It's not on the site, it's not on on the online ticket purchasing site. Basically, they think you're not coming. There's still time..two months..I'm keeping fingers crossed that it's a misunderstanding and gets straightened out.

I'll be checking this space and the theater's website. If it's too late to straighten it out for March, there's a whole bunch of other months in a year. You'd really come out to Patchogue, Arnie? I'm holding you to that.

Oh man, that sure is a bummer for ya. Hope it works out for ya & he comes there. I know how I;'d feel it if happened to me. Wish he'd come 15 mins from me but the only venue that close if the Beacon Theatre in Hopewell, VA & I'm not sure if they've re-opened yet. I'd love to see Arlo come there tho...

Seems as though there's new management at the venue. The problem came from the venue, not us. We're all healthy, happy and ready to roll. See you somewhere else.
