hi gang,

my name's nick and i'm new to the board. i'm going to the rolla show and was just wondering, does anyone here know what time the show starts? the leech theatre website doesn't have any info and my tickets are still at the will-call window so i'm a little in the dark...as usual.

also, i read somewhere on the board that if you ask really nice, the merch people might help you get an arlo-graph. does that actually work? or does it just annoy them? this is my first arlo show and i would hate to make someone angry, but it would be cool to have him sign an album or something...

thanks,
nick

chimpana, I dought you'll make anyone angry. I always go to concerts ( not just AG's) like I own the world.... I actually snuck into a Buffy St. Marie concert, once, and not knowing where the hall would lead, ending up backstage.... Feeling just slightly embarrassed.... I bumped right into the band, and they asked me, " You work for the college? We need some extra help with the lights? I had to be upfront with them, and explain, I just got goofed up, and was lost. I assured them, I wasn't a stalker... lol

Upon, fudging advice, as to get back to the 'actuall line " ( I knew where I was ONCE I got there) I asked the drummer, if Buffy, was generous with Autographs, and they said, ya, actually she is.... So I sorta got snuck into a back stage party after the show..... ( I live real close to an Indian Rez. and aparently Buffy stays tight, with all the tribes) Who Knew??? My wifes from there, so I actually knew the warm up band. "The Akwesausne Mohawk Singers.... ( A large group of Native Americans, that do the traditional Mohawk songs) Wierd being recognized, by to many of them.... ( My Father in Law was full blood Mohawk, and had a relatively larger family.. Everytime, there was a funeral in his family, seems a large part of the Rez would come pay there respects) One of the gals, I had just met at a funeral.. I had to remind her, but she remembered me, and got me backstage...

Buffy was a trip..... I enjoy getting autographs myself. But I am used to seeing allot of Folksingers, and for the most part, they're all tall....( I'm just average hieght I guess. 5'7" with boots on ) ///// Buffy came out, and was so excited, as she knew most of these people, that had met backstage, to feast, and show her tribute... Visa-Versa.... I got her auto-graph ( I think I did pee her off just a tad, as I had her sign a CD, the concert ticket, and the Brochere from the Venue ) She was saying, ay ya yi...... but what was kewl, after all that, I got to give her some compliments, " Like I used to watch seseame st. just to see her ect"... But I had to look, down. WAAAYYY down.... Buffy St. Marie, can't be but 4'11" tall... If she's 5' tall, I would be surprized.... ( Nice memorys & I still, see my friends (( wive's relatives on the Rez from time to time.......It's nice they remember me)

So don't be shy..... Unless he's in a hurry.... ( which isn't often, from my experience..) You'll have plenty of time.... As my friend here on arlonet told me,,, Just keep a heads up, and your ear to the ground...

Good luck, happy trails... :)

Nice to meet you on boards/ Rb

Sometimes it is a formal thing at some venues where they have a spot set up for arlo graph,s sometimes its near the merchandise and sometimes its a less formal around the stage or where ever thing.
JUst wait until after the encore and for the lights to come up and see what happens..Like rb said its not often he doesnt say hello and do arlograph,s.Prob about the only times he doesnt is when he is really tired or really pressed for time,no secret handshakes or passwords are required :)

Some places the bus is in a secure area and as well due to the equipment loading and other stuff going on the bus may not be your best bet.
Sometimes by the time the arlographs are doine inside the bus is loaded and ready to hit the road.Go for it inside after the gig for best chance.

Have fun at the show. Arlo's fans all seem to be nice & you'll have a really good time. Neat story on Buffy Sainte Marie. That reminds me in fact we are going to an Indian Pow-Wow later in the day with some friends & that will be fun... :)

If you get there a little early and ask at the Get Stuff table before the show, the hints will be even better. :)

Pow Wows are always fun Cheryl H. I used to love watching my niece dance.... Up course she had to grow up, now she thinks its' square...

I'd love to eat a handfull of peyote and go to a pow wow.... Now that'd be a trip... but peyote, or no peyote, pow wows are fun...

You and Mike have a great time!

Thanks! We had a great time. We didn't stay the whole time cuz our friends we went with wanted to leave early cuz it was hard to find a seat & see the dancing. We had fun watching whatever dancing we did & seeing the crafts for sale & eating Indian tacos and hanging out with our friends. We had wanted to go to a church picnic where all of the Prebyterian churches in the area get together for a picnic. We got back in time to go to the picnic. Saw some folks that went to school the same time Mike & I did. They were in a higher grade than I was being in Mkes grade. But we had fun reminiscing about junk like the time the kid put a tack in the teachers chair lol. That went all around the school lol.

Anyway welcome to the new folks. When you get to the Get Stuff table, you'll wind up buying anything they have that you don't have... :)
