so tell me how bad this bites...Arlo is coming on march 21 to seattle, I would love to see him, I would do anything...but I am a broke teenager and have no way to come by tickets. It is enough to make me crazy. Any ideas..or sympathy? Anyone attending the Seattle show?

I remember what it's like to be a broke teenager. I'm still broke lol. Maybe you can talk your folks into taking you & getting you tix. Just tell them what a great event it would be for the whole family to go to. It would be educational.

I agree with you Cheryl 100,000%in the very educational category..... Arlo is a great English and History teacher and we all get A+s for just attending his concerts with no exams

If I were a teenager, and was living in todays world, I'd borrow my parents plastic, and tell em about it when they asked!!!

I don't remember if they had credit cards in 1970???? My Dad was the kind of guy, who kept his money in an old fruit jar... It wasn't till around then, he started using banks. But with interest rates as they are, you'd be doing dishes untill your outta college....

SECOND IDEA...... Tell your parents whats up. They might surprize you.

Also remember. Tickets sell out fast, allot of times. So check that out first.

I asked the parents...mom would love to go...dad would too...lack of money until payday seems to be the issue. I am going to try to explain that it is the 40th anniversary of the massacre and see if that works. Only 3 days left to buy tickets...I need a miracle.

Yeah they had credit cards in 1970. They had American Express & Diners club I think & I remember they had Visa & Mastercard. Except Visa was called Bank Americard & Mastercard was called Mastercharge.I forget when they changed their named tho. We're low on money too but we somehow squeeze it out to go. Maybe you can get the cheapest seats there. Good luck!

Well leannemarie: The days are counting down. I just wanted you to know, that even tho I'm not covinced of Miricles, I DO have my fingers crossed for you. I pray that you and your folks, find that last minute ditch, and are able to make it to the show!!!!

Oh have times changed. I first saw Arlo Live when I was 16. He was playing near me, ( with shenendoah if memory serves me ). Of course the dinasaur I am, that was 33 yrs. ago.

I had gone with some high school buddies, and my girlfriend and her Mom. ( her Dad didn't go to shows). It was ausume as he was doing allot of stuff, e.p. 'Washington County' and some of his newer stuff for the time.

Along with my friends, and allot of angry College Freshman, they were yelling " Alice's Restaruant" .... To the point it almost became a chant.. adg, finally said, hey if you wanna hear Alice's, buy the record. ( mostly everything was on vynal then). There's boxes upon boxes for sale, up front... Knock yourself out! ( paraphrasing)

I was impressed with Guthrie, for not bowing down, and singing one of his signiture songs.... Besides, my girlfriend had burned me out on the A side of the record....

Yrs. later, (1989) (shades of 89 tour) I took my wife to her first Arlo concert. She was familiar with the music, as it got played at home lots. We laughed untill our sides hurt the next day, as he played, Alone, solo, and all by himself... I can't really remember a song he didn't do... Alices's and the motor cylcle song. ( he must of played ragtime songs on the piano for at least 40 minutes...) It was great....

Long story short, is I'm really plugging for you, leannemarie, as rumor has it, Alices, will go back on the shelf, after this tour.... I knew he was doing it last Oct. but had NO IDEA, that I would enjoy that old Ballad as much as I did... ( 10 all the way ) I heard him do it, in 97, at a Furtherfest show, but was dissapointed.... ( aye 2 outta 3 aint bad, no)?

P.S. It's always great seeing young people at shows. Arlo has a magnifacant manner, in breaking all age barriers....

Meant to post this before.... when I was young and poorer.....LOL! I voluneered to help out at the shows, and got in to several of them free. It was also a good way to meet some likeminded folks and make new friends. I hope you figured out a way to get to the show, but if not, start getting ready for the next one right NOW! If you didn't get to go, you can read the stuff on here and close your eyes and imagine you were... and know you have my sympathy! I'll leave a review soon, as I will be there... HUGS! Shar
