The Reublican who said "beware the military industrial complex" was the last President we had who was not a career politician (unless you count Reagan-a Hollywood actor...he duped the country good).

Change the constitution......Arnold for president. The green republican married to a Kennedy said recently " I'm not a politician, I'm a public servant". What the heck...he can't be worse than Bush...Obama's a kid...unelectable...Hillary.....pleeeeease.

I am far away from the US and the information we get over here is more selective than the ones you get. All I can say that over here Bush has lost the sympathies he might have had before, and unfortunately most people say USA when actually they mean Bush and friends. On the other side Hillary Clinton and Al Gore (for his effort about the awareness of the climatic catastrophy we are facing) are well liked.
If I could vote I'd go for Larnie. At least the presidential speaches would be funny and interesting.

Naw, I don't believe all Dems are immoral atheists. Jimmy Carter is a Dem & he is a Christian. Arlo would make a great Prez tho. He is a good guy & I know he'd do good running the country. He's someone we could all trust...

For some time we've felt that with our Texas accents, if we were to go to Europe, we'd need to wear t-shirts saying "I didn't vote for him!" or some slogan borrowed from a Natalie Maines t-shirt. It's scary to know that what people think about him, they may think about us, too.

i'm hopin Gore will jump in at just the right time....i like him even more, now....and he beat Bush once in the popular vote, at least.... he was able to get more than 500,000 email petitions in a week to take to that Congressional hearing with him.... i hope he was checking out his support....

....Hillary worries me....she still won't come out and say she is against the war.... or even was back when it started... she's so political... it's not a good vibe ...

...Obama seems to be okay...but needs some experience.... with Gore?...works for me...

A lot of what our so called political leaders do unfortunately reflects us to the rest of the world. Mostly out of lack of enough knowledge about that country. But if everybody sings loud enough the voice of the public in the end will be heard.
Kj, I like Al Gore too. Hillary Clinton for me is too -----perfect, I never get, like you said: vibes from her. I hope that came out right. Over here we don't have a dream team for government either. The send us (little to medium income people) down the social benefits and health care road with pep speeches like that we all have to do our part to get out of the depths Germany is in, but with we all they mean us, the little to medium income people, not themselves or the ones who really could afford it.

There's a MySpace site that's trying to promote a Gore/Obama ticket in 2008. I'd go for that. Gore as prez for two terms, Obama gets some experience under his belt and runs for the next two terms. That'd be 16 years with no more Bushes in the White House. Plus Gore's got an Oscar!

My Dad (who came to Oz on Gen McArthur's staff in WW II where he met my Aussie Mom , and is an Historian of the war in the Pacific) was interviewed yesterday by a young man from Ohio who is making a doco on American Australian relations during WWII. I don't know if he understands that it was a different war from Nam and Iraq.He says he wants to show students in U.S. and here the doco as alot of them don't know the history of that war and the relationship between U.S. and Oz at that time.He is attending our University of Queensland studying law. He is a little older than most of the other students. He said he gets a hard time from some of the others cos he's American. My Mom assurred him that most students (WHO CARE ABOUT POLITICS) would be unhappy with the Govt of The U.S. as they are with the Govt of Oz at the moment (we are hoping to remove Dubya's pal little Johnnie, at our federal election at the end of this year!) not at the people.

I love both my countries and most people know my stand on both govts (I vote in both countries, being an AmerAussie!) It's fun sometimes meeting people who don't know me and as I have an Aussie accent (except when I say grass and few other words) some times start on about the U.S. then I let em know I'm from there and put 'em staight in a nice way of course.

I know you can't vote here, but in Oct or Nov I will be asking for voting vibes across the Pacific to help us get a new govt. (Labor). You know which side I WON"T be voting for in Nov '08!

There's no way he could win, for lack of charisma and looks (that's another rant about U.S. voting I could indulge in but won't), but I like Richardson. He's sound on the issues--not just in what he says but also in his record of action. He's going to be on Jon Stewart's show tonight.

I mean really...check it out...joe citizen is asleep...or in a coma...or too busy working...ie: I mean how drunk would Bush have to be to get arrested for DUI in the 1970's in the state of Maine, Cheney in Wyoming in the same decade ?.....the catatonic electorate put them in anyhow...at least the second time...this first one he stole from us. Looks like the right is willing to forgive any sin of their own kind. If we lose this one I have a funny feeling my kid's going to get inspected, neglected, and selected down at Whitehall Street. Lets just hope they don't put up Mitt.....he's a slick flip flopper who's ambition is pathalogical. He put the gay folks here through the ringer just to forward his cause. The APA/APA (american psychological & psychiatric associations) have long told the world that sexual identity is innate, not a choice or lifestyle, and that homophobia is a projection of uncomfortable homosexual feelings....so that means all the religious right folks who fight gay rights are.....you got it. I'm straight myself but the ignorance of some folks in our nation is unbeleivable (Kerry lost on the gay marriage question-or how the reds distorted his position on it).
