Please excuse my slow reply, but I didn't expect this thread to be here. Thanks to Gerry for tipping me off.

Don't feel sorry for this Pirate fan, however. They've won 3 World Series in my 49 years, & during that period only 4 teams have won more, so I'm happy with my circumstance, both in terms of baseball & life.

PSB, if you're ever in the Oakland area, lemme know & maybe we can meet up. Would enjoy meeting you & any other Blunderite who ventured into the 'Burgh.

I've been busy since last being here. My daughter is away at college now. I remember when I first joined this board, I started a thread about how she'd just become a teenager. I get out to a lotta baseball & basketball games, even some concerts. Saw Melanie & Jorma Kaukonen recently. Got to meet Melanie, too. She was prominent in many fantasies of guys my age back in the day. When she signed my CD "To Joe with love, Melanie" I stole a line from Arlo & told my wife, "It's over!" (BTW, Melanie's autograph line moves fast---I guess since she only has a first name?)

Louise, recently in Pittsburgh we set a world's record for the biggest "zombie walk." Somebody sent me something to the effect that a group in Brisbane is out to break it. If I can locate it, I'll send it to ya or maybe post it here.
