Enjoyed a nice (HOT!) afternoon in Beacon, NY for their annual Corn Festival at Beacon Riverfront Park. Pete played a couple of songs and had asked Kenneth Anderson and Bob Reed to join him.

Well this may not be on topic, but what I have always enjoyed most about watching Pete and Arlo interact is how they can tell the same story 100 times but you would never know it. They always seems so interested in what the other has to say.......and there is such genuine affection between the men. I will always wish Woody had lived to perform with Arlo..........but how wonderful for Arlo and Pete to have each other

Rode the Metro-North with Pete this evening...shoulda sat with him and chatted...I only gripped his shoulder and said "Hi Pete" and he nodded in acknowledgement...had his banjo...anyone know where he was performing?

There seems to be a rumor out that Bruce Springsteen is going to be doing a tribute to Pete Seeger CD. Possibly called "The Seeger Sessions."
Word is the release date is tentatively scheduled for May.
Don't know if it is true or not.
If it is maybe Pete could return the favor. I would love to hear Pete doing Bruce's "57 Channels and Nothing on"

On the subject of Springsteen there was a tribute show to Bruce in NYC last month. Various artists covered songs from the Nebraska album. (Michelle Shocked, Kevin Kinney and a host of others) Anyhow Bruce showed up for the encore and led the performers in a rendition of Woody's Oklahoma Hills complete with a horn section.

Would love to hear Bruce do Waist Deep In The Big Muddy.

Hey Kurt - that's in our neighborhood!! I haven't heard about it but now that I have ... I think I have to go! Are you going?? Sounds like a good evening. I don't know too much about the other performers (except the Vanaver Caravan) BUT I try not to miss any event with Pete!!

Hopefully I can make it. Pete leads songs mostly these days but still puts on a heck of a performance. Betty and the Baby Boomers are on WAMC Wednesday night programs occasionally. It should be a pleasant evening.

If anyone is looking to buy this Bruce Springsteen release, Amazon has a deal where you can get this album along with the Essential Pete Seeger (remastered) for $20.05. The Springsteen CD doesn't come out until next week. No, I don't work for Amazon!
