I posted a question in the wrong forum I think. (Sorry, newbie here.)

I was wondering why Arlo is not in the Rock Hall Of Fame. His father was inducted years ago.

I watched the awards ceremony on VH1 a few weeks ago. Why does a Rap group from the 1980s get in before Arlo?

:?:

why isn't there a folk music hall of fame ? perhaps one should be established in Stockbridge.

That's a greast idea. I always thought there should be one. And Arlo, Pete & Woody & Dylan would be the first inductees... :)

:D I'm all for that too! and Stockbridge would be a perfect place! (and that has nothing to do with the fact that it's not too far from home  )

Yep, I used an Arlo MP3 of Alices for a ringtone on my phone. I have no idea if it's on my current phone...

I don't wanna speak for the folkslinger, but if I were him, I may think being part of history would be nice, but being part of the present would be and IS better! :D

according to my calendar, tomorrow, July 10, is Arlo's birthday. or rather, the anniversary of his birthday. a nomination to a folk music hall of fame would be a perfect present... past... future.... i vote YES!

Worse comes to worse, and Arlo doesn't make the Rock Hall, I hope his dream in Satelite comes true. When everyone takes the day off to have some fun, by watching the Children Play, it would be easy to feed the hungry, help the sick, and set prisoners free. That all sounds like the Gospool to me.

I think we have to create it first. Unless it already exists somewhere. Anyone know ? If not I suggest we occupy the site of the former restaurant, taking it by eminent domain and declaring it the hall of fame. Or (now I know I'm getting old) we should petition the western mass congressional delegation to have the site of the former restaurant declared a national historic landmark.......................................

That is a good idea!

Arlo Guthrie, Woody, Bob Dylan, JoanBaez, John Denver, CSN, Peter, Paul and Mary, Pete Seeger ... just for starters.

Perhaps Arlo can get the ball rolling.

I'll be at the "Rock & Roll Hall of Fame" Friday. I'll put in a word for Arlo! Do they let you take pictures inside the place?? We're gonna see Arlo at Cain Park in Cleveland Sat. the 21st. Anyone been there? What's it like?

I'll say hi to Arlo!.....Mike
