well, lots of people define love in lots of different ways. some people define it by material things, some by the happy feeling you get being around someone you care about, some by having sex. I know there are more examples, but that's what i mean more or less.

The problem with perception of Love (and perception is everything !) is most people look at it as, what's in it for them, as opposed to how much can I contribute. There have only been a handfull of people in the world that reached a level high enough to define it . . . People like Jesus, Mother Teresa, Gahndi, Martin Luther King and only a few others.

It's not even how much you can give, but how much you are willing to sacrifice in the name of Love. And not only for one or many but for all. Unfortunately that's a lot more than most of us are willing to give. How many are willing to sacrifice everything (and that's not sacrifice someone else, but yourself) in the name of Love ?. . . Yeah ! . . . that's a long Way to reach for most of us.

I can't speak for Jesus because he is a mythical being (hey just my opinion), but if you pull the others down off their pedestals and look behind their curtian you will see that their love was not universal, and they had THEIR foibles too.

Ahhh ! You're stepping all over the Truth. There is no universal Love only perception of Love (and perception is everything !) There also is no perfection either, only a heading in that direction, which is also perception. The only thing that counts is whether your perception is productive or destructive . . . and whether you care, "Outside A Small Circle Of Friends" (Phil Ochs) . . .
there's a bit of Ochs at youtube.com

Arlo prefaces "My Peace" by saying that the song is not about the big, marching/rallies kind of peace, but the little peace; the peace in each of us, and that if each of us just takes care of that, the big peace will take care of itself. I think that's true of love as well; in fact, they're more than related.

Thanks Mat Albino. There is no seperation of church and state in the constitution. Only, they will make no law regarding religion is what I could gather from reading it.

Actually, it says "Congress will make no law respecting religion" . . . now there's an open door if I ever heard one ! The Supreme Court did indeed twist that ammendment to suit their agenda. In actuality they can outlaw religion altogether if they so desire or progress . . . here's the irony of it all, the word "prohibited" acording to its Latin roots means "For to have" Our Founding Fathers knew exactly what they were talking about !

Fritz Perls (a stoner jewish psychiatrist, if that means anything) said "love is me leading you back to yourself". Hopefully you know who you are in the first place. In terms of quantum energy I find the Jedi code most attractive.

May the force be with each of you !

Also what Ceashel said about my peace..............the big peace or big hate is made up of all the little pieces of peace or visaversa. So as Arlo suggests about the tune we all own our little piece of the peace. Like a single cell in an organism.

Mat Abano,
Please explain that "For to Have part."
I think it would be a good idea to outlaw all of the organized ones. I've been staring down the barrel of them for years.
I know I don't want to kill, kill kill.

Universal love is a concept introduced to humanity by Jesus, or if your prefer the new testament. For a specific definition read Corinthians 1. Jesus defined this love as the truth, the only truth, not subject to perception. He refered to human perception as an "illusion", and when asked "what law should we follow" concerning traditional Jewish custom he said "there are but 2 laws, love the lord God with all your heart, and love your neighbor as yourself". For human perception to be the defining factor of truth opens the way for all manner of deception. All you need to do is look at history....Hitler, Stalin, the Inquisition, Jihad, Hiroshima, Rawanda, Kosovo, Tibet, American slavery, the Native Americans and on and on and on. All these folks thought they were doing the right thing. We were given a "compass", most times don't use it and follow our own "perceptions" of truth. Why do you think the world is so screwed up in the first place, and it keeps getting weirder. That's the way the father of lies wants it...he resents love so.

Well,
What America did to the Native American Indians, is excatly what the germans did to the jews.
I'm Michael of Daniel 12:1 and Revelation 12. Number Nine from a Beatle song. I want to give this land back to its natives.
Who wouldn't want to work for them Indians, than D.C.
