Re - PSBeaty - "I once said the following" thesis

Most of what the Hippie movement (or any movement)was not all that important, except in the Light of this Capitalist Nation. All things relate to and evolve around and through the economy, and that's the major and only concern of government, that it does not collapse, as societies of the past. The other problem is when the numbers become so great, like in the billions and trillions, life becomes expendable !

This is the "Last Great Idea" as Tony Campolo stated (tonycampolo.com) to produce you with and sell you things that you do not need in order to maintain the economics of this nation and probably includes the rest of the world also. The problem is, the rest of the world is getting far better at it that ourselves, especially China. Do we really need $350 I-Pods, $150 sneakers, $85 dollar jeans . . .$27,000 plasma TVs. The question you really want to ask yourself is "How in the hell are they etting all these idiots to buy all this crap ?" . . . I'll give you a clue, I used to work in the advertising biz, t's all done with subliminal suggestion through the media. The best one is "Instant Gratification" . . . I gotta have it, and I gotta have it now ! On top of of drug addiction (a 300 billion a year biz in the US of A, alone !) they have crap addiction, like the above. Then there is of course the heavily taxed (up to 50%) oil, alchohol, and cigarettes. . . Yep ! We need to preserve the Union, go out and buy a lot of stuff you absolutely don't need !

speaking for myself,

I buy my jeans on sale, I like good sneakers (never paid $150) TV's are expensive (I never paid that much) and I have grown very fond of my I Pod. I am all for a total revolution in the world market and the allocation of resources and the priorities of investment and a comprehensive land management system that extends beyond borders. That would require a world of people who talk without selfish agenda (kind of one of those utopian hippie things).

How about any of you tired Indians who went to the big Pow Wow at the Church last night? You did some communing with the cosmioc vibrations so you must have some insight!

Re -Captain Zap "Nothing is real." .....John Lennon

Ahhh ! another merchant of Truth, but you didn't take it far enough ! Strawberry Fields is all metaphor (or Mataphor) Start right out with "I AM the Vine you are the branches" the off shoot of a strawberry plant is called a "branch" it will develop its own roots and if cut off from the original parent source it will survive. Strawberries are the only fruit that has its seeds on the outside, and the meat on the inside, kinda like us on this this planet. Don't leave out ". . . nothing to get hung about" which is a link to Yeshuah and back to the "Vine" This is all theater, written and produced by God . . . "The world is a stage, on which we are all actors playing a part. There are no small parts, only small actors" (Willy Shake)
. . . and finally Strawberry Fields is anothor metaphor for Flander's Fields, where there are thousands upon thousands of white crosses in a field of green, serving as testimony of the futility of war, and that's why the French want nothing to do with war, that being a constant reminder to them.

No, that ain't me on the left. People say I look like I could be Arlo's son.
If it was me, I would have been playing, "Off we go to Music Land"-training eyes and ears and hand. The only song I can play on the Piano.
