The question you really want to ask yourself is "How in the hell are they etting all these idiots to buy all this crap ?" . . . I'll give you a clue, I used to work in the advertising biz, t's all done with subliminal suggestion through the media. The best one is "Instant Gratification" . . . I gotta have it, and I gotta have it now ! On top of of drug addiction (a 300 billion a year biz in the US of A, alone !) they have crap addiction, like the above. Then there is of course the heavily taxed (up to 50%) oil, alchohol, and cigarettes. . . Yep ! We need to preserve the Union, go out and buy a lot of stuff you absolutely don't need !

speaking for myself,

I buy my jeans on sale, I like good sneakers (never paid $150) TV's are expensive (I never paid that much) and I have grown very fond of my I Pod. I am all for a total revolution in the world market and the allocation of resources and the priorities of investment and a comprehensive land management system that extends beyond borders. That would require a world of people who talk without selfish agenda (kind of one of those utopian hippie things).
