For sharing that tune. I heard it somewhere before, not all the verses. Reminds me of a coffee mug I saw "Today's the tomorrow we worried about yesterday".

Now I can't even tell you what all I meant to say. What with the week starting with the police searching our trash and ending with three trips to the police station and one to the pricipal's office and them being about three different things. It wasn't the best week in my mothering carreer.
I certainly could use some chonclit cake.

And just a word of advice. If someone gives you a hit list with your name on it. Even if you don't think it's serious, the other ten people might, so don't throw it away.

On weeks like this it's nice to have a place to vent...somewhere where no one is judgemental...and you can be cranky or defensive without anyone telling you to how you should act or feel. Here, It's all about the love.

That it is, Reg (about the love). Diane mc, I've been worrying, trying to figure out what we might have said to upset you. I've gone back over the posts around that time, and couldn't find anything. I'm sorry you had such a week, but am glad to know that things may be a little better. Those times hit us all, sooner or later, but as Cliffite said yesterday, it's "onward through the fog..." and when you realize we're all in the fog together, it's a bit less scary.

You know, it didn't really bother me to have the police looking through the trash for a note but when my son told him that if it wasn't there maybe it's behind his dresser. The cop asked him why it might be there he said, "well, sometimes I don't feel like going all the way to the trash can so I just shove stuff back there" I'm glad I raised an honest boy , but he is embarassingly a slob.
The list never was found but he still may be called to testify.

Diane, Im wondering how old your son is? As the someone who was often hassled by "the authorities" because of choices some of family members made; (that I supported by the by) I know there are limits to who and when and what age they can talk to people. Back in the 70's it was the ripe old age of 16 that they could detain and ask questions ad lib. If he's much younger than that - I'd question their authority.

As for his messy dresser - be grateful you can find the dresser - no less what's behind it. Typical kid.

He's 13 and handled himself quite well, I must say. Okay, the story was that this kid with whom a lot of people don't get along with made up this list of kids he's gonna get. Pre-Columbine days noone would have made a big deal of it. Apparently, even as he was trying to tell this list to my son, he didn't feel like talking to him and told him just to write it down. So he did and my son shoved it in his pocket and went on about his day. The next day he gossiped about it to some kids and one of them went to the teacher and told her about it. Next thing I know the principal calls and asks if they can come look for it becase Kia said it must be in the trash. So I said they could, ran upstairs, made beds, picked up clothes and sprayed febreeze. they didn't find it.
They still wanted to pursue it and asked him to come to the station to get an official statement. Of course I went with him and he really handled himself quite well. When the story started taking on a life of its own the detective wanted to re-ask him the whole thing to try to sort through all he was by now hearing. Kia really wsn't happy about doing it again but agreed to and did a very mature job of it again. The other boy was suspended for a few days and is now back in school.
In the mantime Kia is being seriously bullied by a boy himself. This same kid had been bullying him earlier in the year but things had calmed down for several months. I get a call from school that this kid went after him with a wrench to the point where he drew blood. So, when my friend the police detective called and asked if I wanted to press charges, after quite a bit of deliberation I decided I had to. I am furious at the steps the school could have taken but didn't and felt it was our only course to take. So back to the staition I go. Fortunately, he went to the school to talk to Kia and he didn't have to go with me.
Then I get a call from the school that he's suspended for fighting on school property. Well, luckily, he hasn't gone into a nontalkative teen phase yet so I knew that he and three friends were wrestling and playfully horsing around IN THE PARK on the way home from school the day before. We had to take this fight all the way to the superintendant got the punishment eventually reduced to one day detention and the violation changed from fighting to scuffling and it would still be going on except that they went to detention even though they weren't supposed to while we were appealing it. The woman told them they be expelled if they didn't go.
I was so glad when he had the chance to go camping with his boy scout troop that weekend to get a break.

It seems that on your side of the ocean schools are as much a dictatorship as over here. As soon as you ask for clarification or only indicate that they might have made a mistake or complain about violence or racism you get either bullied by a pupil (and no help from the school) or by a teacher or a principal. And they wonder why less and less people do their civic duty but keep for themselves. Your son was doing right, you were doing right and you both have the hassle. Hoping that things are going to calm down for you and your familiy.
