I won't get into the whole immigrant thing other than to say that most are trying, like the rest of us, to live a better life. But come on! It's not just some of the immigrants who are pedophiles. It's right across the board. Some one remodeling their house here in CT uncovered thousands (yes, thousands!) of 35mm slides behind a false wall. The house was formerly owned by a now deceased doctor who was accused, back in the 90s, of molesting children who were his patients many years earlier. He could not be prosecuted because the statute of limitations had expired. He lost his job at St. Francis Hospital (big deal) and sometime later died of natural causes but his victims lost most of their childhood and adult lives. If you want to do something about pedophiles, then do it across the board. Perhaps the statute of limitations should not apply to pedophilia. Most molested children probably hold it inside, even into adulthood. And in many cases it will manifest itself in behavioral or psychological disorders in both the child and adult. By the time it comes to light, the perpetrator cannot be legally tried for the horror that they unleashed. But not so the victim. Former Newgrass Revival bassist, John Cowan was (or that should be is) a victim of pedophilia. You can read his own words. http://www.johncowan.com/ then click on "Journal" and May 15, 2006 "Drown"

I don't believe Jesus was the son of any God.......but I believe he was a good compassionate person with HIS version of Christian values which were later twisted and used by others for their own reasons, like controling the masses with fear (sound familiar?). I don't think he would have turned anyone back at the border.....and maybe would have used billions of dollars to help those people, instead of to bomb hundreds of thousands of innocent people in a war based on lies.

When the war in Iraq started I was ashamed of both my governments and felt like the French people about some aspects of it. I was going to get a T-shirt with "I'm an AmerAussie and Not Proud of It" written on it. But I thought I might get stoned in the street by some. I know people who sent me emails about freedom fries and not buying French wine or food.

But now they have changed their minds (one of them is now a member of Democrats Abroad here in OZ), and now we have a new Prime Minister who stood his ground publicly against the war in 2003. He just ratified the Kyoto Protocol and has told the country that Australia will speak for its self from now on and make it's owm decisions on matters like going to war.

I've always loved the people of both my countries but not always the Govt. And when people here say they are anti American because of the war they don't mean the people just the *********"s who are running the country (for now) We ALL know how fear can control the masses wether used by Church or State.

95% of abused children are abused by someone in their own family or a friend of the family.
95% of raped people are raped by people they know.
95% of murdered people are murdered by people they know.

Lets stop living behind a cloak of STRANGER DANGER.

According to statistics you or a child you know are safer with a stranger.

Zap - funny thing is when I brought up pedophiles and calling them "sex offenders" to be politically correct, I didn't even make the tie to immigrants in my mind. What had me riled up was this who dumbing down of the language.

If it looks like crap, and it smells like crap, and you saw it come out of a dog's ass... IT'S CRAP! Not "waste material" or "organic fly food".

Well, ya did have it in the same post as the immigrant rant. And before that, your point # 14 had to do with immigrant sex offenders. Sorry if I misinterpreted it as you zeroing in on immigrant pedophiles. But I'm with Louise on the immigrant "issue". And right now, I think that there's a hell of a lot more to worry about than somebody taking a job here that nobody else wants.

i've gotten that first poem in a few emails.... with respect to the beliefs of those who support and promote it... i do wonder how someone can
take your faith away...

as for immigration... it's just all to silly for me... this is a country built for immigrants.... you and me .... and it's our job to figure it out...

I emigrated twice. First to Georgia and then to the Maryland Pennsylvannia line. I have been treated fairly decently as an immigrant! I hold no revelatory concepts as real or valuable whatsoever and I still say Merry Christmas...I do believe in Santa Claus but I heard he says he he he now instead of ho ho ho out of political correctness?

To put things in perspective, the greatest threats to our country come from within, not from the outside That is to say poor, misguided and moronic leadership like we have now. One moron in the whitehouse can damage us more than a million illegal immigrants.
And didn't dubya populate the entire country of Iraq with illegal immigrants when he sent our military there?

how can you keep on movin
unless you migrate to
they tell ya to keep on movin
but migrate you must not do
the only reason for movin
the reason why i roam
is to move to a new location
and find myself a home
