Arlo was mentioned in a thousand dollar clue last night on Jeopardy. The topic was Songs about cities. The clue went like this; Arlo Guthrie sung about a Train they call the City of ...??? Had to be the easiest $1000 question ever on Jeopardy but none of the egg heads got it!

I guess this should be in the sightings forum but for some reason I can't post it there. What's the point of a sightings section that you can't post a sighting on???[/b]

You should be able to post on the sightings forum... just you can't START a topic on there. You can reply to any of the topics though... that way it kind of keeps that forum organized.

However I gave Arlo the power to post anywhere.... and he kinda mucked that up, lol! Guess I should have explained it better... I know, I know... like herding cats... :)

Good point though, maybe I should have an announcement on that forum that explains that.

Hey Chiti: I hardly ever watch jeopardy. ( me deceased mother in law used to watch it, getting 4outta 5 right, to my 2 outta 7 right ) ( yeah I always got the music or entertainers columns right on)

But I coulda screamed, when the dumb *ucks couldn't answer the easiest question ever asked..... Maybe they should of used Willie Nelson, or many of the various other artist that have covered that song.... I love John Cash, but cringe when I hear him sing it!

My Brother Thomas is a Pschiatrist, and for yrs. he would play jeopard on t.v. and get ALL the answers right. I always knew he was a genious, and it urked to me watch with him. UNTILL, his wife, told me, that living in Canada, the show is aired a few days early, than that of the states. So she confided in me, he would watch the show, then go visit my Mom stateside, and smile sorta smuggly as he whipped off the correct answers...

Glad I never bet with him... ha ha

Chitikash8-
Was that the most mind-numbingly asinine moment in game show history? I was watching that episode of Jeopardy from my kitchen when the easiest-ever gift of a $1000 "answer" came up. I just stood with mouth agape at the three stumped apes on the panel. When I could speak again, all I could say was, "New Orleans! What is New Orleans!? Where is New Orleans!? How could you NOT know New Orleans!?" They should have all been sent home right then and there with a consolation prize of a year's worth of Rice-a-Roni. (Certainly not Zatarain's.)

We got to keep "carrying the coal". You wouldn't beleive how many people have never heard of Arlo, Alice's, or Woody for that matter....cultural illiteracy is speading like the slime ozzing out from my TV set.

Welcome to the site! The concert listings are here:

http://www.arlo.net/resources/schedule/

I don't think he had anything listed for your area. You can keep checking them to see if he adds anything for your area. Good luck...

I really don't understand how anyone could have missed that. I find many of those questions tough, but that would just be an easy $1000.

... how?!?

All I have to say is too many VCR repair manuals, and not enough common sense! :D
