Remember Holly Near? No? Think a minute--maybe you remember HARP (Holly, Arlo, Ronnie, and Pete). Here's Holly on October 8, 2007. Her voice and her spirit haven't changed, except maybe both have grown:

I found my HARP album! It's been years? I always liked that one quite a bit.

Ya, I like Harp a lot. Is that the only one with "I'm changing my name to Chysler." Oh, wait a minute, wrong cd. I love that song though. But I don't want to change my name for the trash/cash.

I have HARP on vinyl and never did snatch it up when Arlo released it in CD form... after asking Arlo if it'd be available again he pointed me to Holly Near. In an e-mail from her, she mentioned she was working on re-releasing it. I've recently been ripping some of my vinyl to my computer - but I've been checking to see if something is available before I go to the trouble... Well, I don't know when it came out, but Holly has re-released HARP, with lots of stuff that didn't make it on the original release:

I found it a little cheaper over at Amazon though. Picked up a used copy in like new condition for $16.

I do believe the re-release is a couple of years already, since I'm pretty sure I've had the double CD for that long...
Also of note are the Holly Near/Ronnie Gilbert recordings, Lifeline (also now in an extended version) and This Train Still Runs. Ronnie and Holly play off each other so well. I never tire of these albums...

Thanks for the info ya'll. I'll have to see if I have it on cd. If not then I need to order it...
