Whoa--we're finally home from our caucus. You'd have thought Blunderites were in charge, it was so disorganized; apparently, because party official have been living in a cave lately and didn't expect the turnout they got. But while standing on line endlessly just to sign in, I was just so happy to see so many people caring enough to be there after they'd already voted in the primary. (Of course, they care mostly because their nation has been slam-dunked into the ethical and economic toilet.)

It looks like we won't know until morning who took Texas in the Democratic Party; it's 50/50 on the primary (which determines 66% of the delegates) but caucus results (33%) won't be in until then. I very much hope Senator Obama gets the national nomination, but if it's Senator Clinton, I'll be no less supportive of the campaign and I'll be proud and happy if we win, either way. And if not, we may need to know from Louise if they need luthiers and editors in Oz; just kidding, but I don't know how I could stand another four years of this degradation of my country and the Constitution.

'Scuse the rambling...my brain fried from being a sardine in an elementary school cafeteria. Still, it was great to participate when it counts, for a change. Although, come to think of it, 'they' say that the R's want Clinton to win, and we did use touch-screen machines in the primary. Hmm....

I know the Repubs want Hils to win because they think it will make their
road to the White House a little less rocky but I just have to say WAY TO GO HILS!!! I know I'm in the minority here but I still feel she's the one.
Many people I talk to here feel the same. From a distance they see that the reputation of the U.S. is in a bad way at the moment. Some still can't believe that "Dubya was elected TWICE!!!!" (that's what they say while shaking their heads.)

With Obama they see charisma, rhetoric but not enough substance. They don't know enough about him. They say because they've known Hils for so long, they feel kind of safe with her and that she's ready and knows what she's doing if she gets the top job.

I am in an unusual situation (as most of you know) as I'm a citizen of the U.S.but don't live there and am a bit removed, and I also follow it all more closely than most people here, where I am also a citizen.I have my own reasons and am happy she has done so well in Ohio and Texas.

They got a lot of B&B's in Vermont, and I don't mean Bed and Breakfasts, I mean brains and balls! Kinda makes one wish to move there.....

That is cool of Vermont. It had to be here on arlonet that I heard 17% of Vermonters wanted to leave the Union. While at the same time wishing N.E. would join them so we could have a New N.E. Something like that isn't as drastic as sounds. Its not like N.E. would just disappear from the Continent.
I've heard it is in Texas's Constitution that they could leave at anytime too. There has been talk of California wanting to do the same. And even Northern California wants to be its own State.-maybe not one of confusion like LA.

It was chaotic at the caucus a little more so than in this video from San Antonio. But it got done.

My precinct is in a Republican stronghold. The line for Dems to vote went around the building at 6 p.m. and there were, oh, 5 Repubs in their line. The caucus had about 300 people.
