Why not write Arlo in on the ballot ?

Besides, with our luck, a bunch of us will write in Arlo's name, and Obama will lose like by one vote or something, making Arlo this years Ralph Nader! We don't need another Ralph this year! And besides, I think Hillary is starting to fill that role anyway.

yes, we need Arlo for his music, however---he could really toot his own horn while in public office!

That's got to be the suckiest job in the world! Then we'd all have to join the secret service to protect our hero, and if anyone said any mean stuff about Arlo I would have to forsake my heritage as a Friend (Quaker) and do some serious ass kicking.

I'm not very tall, but I'm pretty sure I weigh enough that if I could take out their knee and get them on the ground I could suffocate just about any body by sitting on their chest. Then my hippie dress would get all hiked up, and my grandma panties would show. And when I get real mad I cry so my mascara would be running, and if I scream loud enough I could wet my pants. It'd be pretty ugly.

I vote we keep our Arlo just as he is. I love you, Arlo.

pat paulsen for president! if dead people can "vote", why can't they run for office?

Some one has to do the job, but the three/now two front runners don't exactly thrill me.

Are there any middle ground politicians left in America or is it all far left and far right?

Honestly I prefer Obama over She who was Co-president with Slick Willy, yet while I was visiting some relations in the south, I caught a profound sense of the prejudice that still exists. One example; A School Teacher from the Tar Heel State was adamant that she would never vote for a black.

Still I will wait and see how this current production of Payton Place plays out. I for one am closer to libertarian in view and dislike expansion of government. Which to me seems to be desire of the democractic party overall.

But thats just my opinion. please feel free to disagree.

I am from the deep South and I noticed the profound sense of prejudice also exists in all other parts of the country as well but no one wants to say it's even more rampant among other races because they can say or do whatever they want and it's not considered racist. Notcie how Rev Al and Jesse Jackson haven't come out screaming about Rev Wright's comments? The reason I, as a Democrat, probably won't vote for Obama is because I find it hard to vote for a man, who by the way, is half white and that half is the American half wince his black father is from Kenya, because he called Rev Wright his mentor and spiritual advisor for 20 years yet didn't denounce him strongly and swiftly (and actually stayed in the church for 20 years) and then to hear his wife say after he gained enough delegates to secure the nomination that she had never been able to say she was proud to be an American until that point really scares me. Rev Al and Jesse Jackson came down on the Duke Lacrosse players calling for their heads yet not a peep from them when the DNA evidence showed none of them to be involved and the woman involved had three different men's DNA inside her at the time tells me a lot about that young woman - like take a shower or bath between men! Bottom line, racism is rampant among all races and in all areas of the country. Just because a person hears one person say something doesn't mean we're all that way.
I voted for Ralph Nadar in the last two elections even though I knew it was a "wasted vote" but I voted my conscience as my father taught me.

Ebbette I totally agree that racism and prejudice is rampant throughout the country... in many ways the more subtle forms are the most destructive, as they get played out in other forms...
and certainly there are lots of prejudices in any particular race or ethnicity...

yet I believe also that we are at a time of serious moral necessity to put aside the focus on differences of history and gender and race and geography
and a million other ways we can name our differences and frailties.... if we don't work to build bridges together, our republic is at dire risk of being overrun by those who would and do exploit this country for profit and control...as we fight over the details... and we may well lose democracy...
it's my fervent wish that you (and all of us) know our conscience and vote it...
