Well, it makes at LEAST as much sense as hiring a guy that ran horse shows to run FEMA. Horse and hurricane both begin with the letter "H", so what's the problem?

So much has changed.....huh? Nowadays, you can't "asshole" without a "w". This may mean that Dan Quayle may make a comeback?

There are so many living in a Land of material wealth, its tough for too many to see things like Liberty slipping away. Liberty takes enough spare time to enjoy our hard earned trash/cash. I'm scared to death that McSame may just pull it out. He shouldn't even be close after him saying he wouldn't stop with just Iran, but would go after Russia and China too.

Sooner or later, it's gunna get back to McCain and Obama.
As for now with the introduction of Sarah Palin, we have a new group of yet unknown size and influence that we may call the " Palindrones".
Palindrones may think that going backwards is indeed going forward.
Some Palindrones will support her because she is a woman.
Some Palindrones will support her because she speaks to the extreme right wing(base) of her party.
Some Palindrones will support her because she is the beauty queen bee, and that's what drones do.
Some Palindrones will support her because she is not Obama or Biden.
Some Palindrones will protect your unborn child so that they can send him/her to die in an unjust war 20 years later.

For me, all you have to know is " In what regard Charlie?"

For me, the infamous "bridge to nowhere" is as much a metaphor as it was a real project, in that it describes the Bush promise of being a uniter and not a divider. Bush drones and now Palindrones my still chose to believe it was or is true.

Sadly, the country may be ready for the latest toy from Mattel," Right Wing Barbie", to land the job.
Much of the electorate does not consider intellect as much as it does personality, much of it does not consider ability as much as it considers affiliation, and so on.

Somebody said the were scared.
I'm Scared too!!!!!!!

Any of you get them General Strike videos too? I just got one which one of my favorite Repubs from the Local Watering Hole would call a conspiracy theory (That was a good movie.).

I'm not sure if the illuminatie are as bad as some make them out to be. The Masons do not seem like bad people from what I can see from down here where I am at. Though I am starting to get a bad picture of the Rothchilds and JP Morgans. The dow is under 11,000 today. What did it peak at? 14500 or so?

I'm not so sure, Larry. This year has seen record numbers of Americans registering to vote and, what seems to be, record numbers registering as Democrats. Even at work, there seems to be a lot of people who I would have thought would be for McLame/Phalin who are not. And the more McSame (McLame) keeps opening his yap, the more he puts his foot in it. "....the US economy is fundamentally sound." Bullshit! Sales are way down, restaurants and clubs are hurting, lending agencies are going bye, bye. Every one's having a hard time making ends meet. I've seen folks pulling over to pick up firewood after the public works crews trim roadside trees! Even Greenspan is saying it's the worst he's ever seen it. It's taken a while but I think that even some of the dyed in the wool Republicans are starting to see what sad shape this country is in. Maybe it'll make a difference come November.

Your lips(or keyboard) to God's ears Zap!
Part of me thought that the last election would not be close, and Kerry would take it down. A big part of me thinks that to be even more true for this election, but so much can happen. With 80% of the population thinking that the country is moving in the wrong direction, one might think and hope it would not be close. But, never underestimate stupidity and underhanded yet effective campaign tricks and rhetoric. I am remaining optomistic, yet cautious.
Palin is a distraction and a potential vote stealer. When it gets back to McCain and Obama and we get some debates, I'm hopeful that the gap shall widen in Obama's favor. I also hope and pray we don't have any terrorist activity before the election that may influence the fearful and the ignorant.

Market crashing, recession, and McCain said today he can fix it.

He also has a secret plan to get Osama but he won't reveal it unless he's elected. (Keith reported on this.)

Enough?

Speaking of the economy, I was just made aware of the fact that Lehman Bros, you know, the company that just filed the biggest chapter 11 in history, hired the smarter bush brother, Jeb, somtime a year or so ago. What is it with this family?? The anti-Midas touch or something?

One of the best quotes about this election is this: "God help the GOP if American's vote for true christian values in 2008." You know, things like compassion on the poor, and trying to make friends out of your enemies before we shock and awe them.

Well, as expected, and even before the debates, McCain's bounce from "Teleprompter Barbie" is over and starting to recede.

The anti-war movement during the 60's and early 70's was successful. Protest marches, protest songs and absolutely irreverent behavior worked to end the most powerful nation on the planet's foriegn war. Why is it that so many people today believe that employing those same tactics now will hurt rather than help the causes we now face???

I think that's an excellent question.

Ceashel said something like unseemly behaviour
would give the good people a black eye
which would work against them at the polls
(sorry, Ceashel, I'm too fagged to look it up).

I don't know the answer.
I truly do not.
I hope an "anti-'60s tactics today" thinker will help me see that side.
