i can't remember the verse now...but what does "glimmier" mean?!

I recall being quite concerned about the Island's unrest. Fortunately for us, where we were was quiet and undeveloped. "Mama's" was all it was known as, up the chalk hill a mile from the center of Negril. No sign existed. Glimmier , as far as I can tell , is a compound adjective ( and I dearly need Terrie and Ceashel to tell us if it is even possible to have a compound adjective ) which means clever and often too smooth to be convincing.

then at least i would have some context the word glimmier was used,
but those nagging disruptions, "no, that's not your poem" (??)

i did look up and find the word glim, which said means, "light or lamp"

Why thanks MG! Nobody ever called me Glimmier before! Well, at least I THINK I should thank you.....I suppose the other possibilty is to call my lawyer to start the slander suit.

If that is a music question: it is a slow beat per minute, it accents upstrokes, and it is primary chords, mostly I IV V with few sevenths unless modulating. Analyse "I Can See Clearly Now". The middle 8 is clever and somewhat atypical but most of the neccessaries are there. Stir It Up is more typical. Reggae sounds easy but unless you practice it a lot with the same players, it quits being reggae and becomes ragged. It is a beat and a sound that cannot be forced. It stays in its own space and if you can't fit your head and your hand, like most things like that, you'll chafe in it like bluegrass.

Plus, the accent on the upbeat allows the guitar player to keep the joint in his right hand a grab a quick toke before the downbeat gets there.Sometimes musical styles have practical applications.
