Hey everybody. My name's Honor, I'm 23, and I've been an Arlo fan for every one of those 23 years; so much so that I named my beloved Beagle Arlo. This is him:

The truly amazing thing about my little Arlo, though, is that he, at 8 months old, saved my life. I write articles for a pet website called NextDayPets.com. He's the most amazing dog, truly worthy to carry the name Arlo. He's also a great way to meet other people around my home town who love Arlo Guthrie and folk in general, because as soon as a fan hears my puppy's name, they get all excited and we end up exchanging tales of seeing Arlo live and how his music has changed our lives.

Hello Honor, I love stories with happy endings. I also see many connections here. First, Arlo G. loves stories......and dogs (have you listened to his song about his dog "Eli" on his record "Someday"? Next, the "Beagle" was the ship that carried a young Charles Darlowin around the world and led him to write "On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection"......if you want him to "git outta the way", do you ever say "guitarlo"? Give him a pat on the head and a scratch behind the ears for me......Peace, Kevin :roll:

Great dog! Have you taught him how to take out the garbage? Does he have a bad habit of getting halfway through a bark and interrupting it with a story?

No, they never did catch the guys. The description "Two men in a dark-colored pickup truck traveling through downtown Greenville" was unfortunately not much to go on.

Thank you all for your kind words. This is a time in my life when I truly need them. My little Arlo is temporarily staying with my mother, several states away because I am momentarily homeless, having been thrown out of my house by the man I lived with after he beat me up. I defended myself and I'm ok, but things are hard right now... but then, I suppose things are a little bit harder for everyone these days. It would help if my car hadn't died on the way to work yesterday. Starting to feel a little like Job.

Thank God for folk music, the "BlunderNation," and the ability to count blessings instead of burdens.

Your dog is a cutie, I too have a special companion that I just don't know what I would do without. His name is "Quincy", a Dalmatian
He has saved my life many, many times just by being there for me in difficult times.
It is now my turn to do the same for him. He is 13yrs old and is now diabetic and blind and sometime falls down on his bum and looks just like "Eyore" with polka dots. He tends to bump into a lot of things, especially the fridge, his nose still works extremely well.
I know he is at the end of his life and want him to be as comfortable as possible.
I am sorry "Arlo" isn't with you right now, and also your situation.
I hope things improve for you very soon.
If you ever need to vent, feel free by e-mailing me, I understand and was at one time an abused spouse.

Your little beagle is such a cutie! I have a black & white border collie. I know what a comfort a good dog can be. I hope you can get back under the same roof with each other soon for I just bet Arlo misses you too. Take care of yourself & be strong. I've never been lucky in love so I stay by myself with my dog, Jack, & 2 cats, Black Kitty & Curly. Simple pleasures like a dinner out with friends, some good music (ie, ADG, Eagles), being with my grand daughters & my pets get me by just fine.

Please be careful where ever you are. There is so much meaness out there.

Cute dog. Beagles are about my favorite breed.

Y'all gonna hate me for this but I just couldn't help myself. Your story reminded me of the time I went out to my country cousin's farm for a visit. He showed me around the place and we finally came to the hog pen. In the pen was a hog with a wooden leg. I naturally was curious, so I asked, "Why's the hog got a wooden leg?"

"Well," said country cousin, "That hog is special. He saved the life of my whole family one night. A spark popped out of the fireplace and set the curtains on fire. He saw the flames through the window, rooted out of his pen, and ran to the house, and started kickin' the door and squealin' real loud. That woke us up and we got the fire put out. Yup, saved us all."

So I asked, "Did he lose his leg while saving you?"

"Nope."

"Well, then why does he have a wooden leg?????"

"Well, when you got a hog that special you just don't want to eat him all at once." :shock:

I'm sorry. I'm at work, it's 2:30AM CDT and I'm kinda bored.
