It's a bit scary

I discovered Twitter last week and have been following Billy Mays's son. This has been a strange thing. It's almost like being in his "Back Pocket"
You know, that back pocket we all ride in when we can't make it to a show. I think it's cleansing or healing or something for him. Letting everyone know what's going on, where he is ( well almost...he's having to avoid media that is holding his family hostage.) What's next and what he is thinking. For example, he is going to the funeral home today and will be seeing his Dad for the first time since.....well you know.

Kind of surreal.

The entire last week and a half has been very emotionally charged with all of the passings.

I'm 40 something and have a recording I made when I was very little of a Jackson 5 record..complete with my Mom in the background yelling at me to "turn it down"

Here's to a better week ahead!

Wow, I didn't know about Gail Storm. I used to watch the Jackson 5 on some tv program (American Band Stand?). Always enjoyed them.

I have a twitter account somewhere, had to sign up for work at one point. I've resisted going there, trying to keep things to a dull roar.

Another musician passed. Drake Levin of Paul Revere and the Raiders passed on from cancer. It was reported on Tommy James and the Shondells message boards. This is sad. I had no idea he was sick. I was nutty about the Raiders back in the day & my fave was Mark Lindsay. Us kids loved watching them. I watched Happening 68 all the time & liked Action too. Mike loved the Raiders. If he were here he'd be so sorry top hear about him. I think one of the other Raiders passed on awhile back. It may have been Fang I think. RIP. I get all my news like this either here or on Tommy James message boards cuz the media sure doesn't report news like this...

So sorry to hear about him RIP. I remember as a kid watching Huntley and Brinkley for some reason & when they quit, I switched over to Walter. He was the news...

I just read that Gordon Waller of Peter & Gordon passed away. Not only that, but he'd been living in the town next to mine. I never would have dreamed that when I was a kid, singing along to their hits "A World Without Love" and "Lady Godiva"! Rest in peace, Gordon.

I always wondered how they know FOR CERTAIN that someone is the "world's oldest". What about places where there are no accurate birth records to go by?

Anyway, it's good that the title of world's oldest living man is vacant; gives one something to live for.

So sorry to hear about them both. I read that a 112 yr old man from the US will now get the title as worlds oldest man...
