I just wanted to say i'm 50 and grew up in New york and loved Arlo's music forever and and i am finally gonna see him play tomorrow and i know he dosn't play A.R.M any more and maybe he don't sign autographs but i have no doubt it is going to be one of the greatest experience's i will ever know thanks for all the great music Arlo, please never stop. You are going to have a wonderful time! I agree with Goofus, you will be a bit different afterwards. Arlo is bright, funny and such an accomplished musician that you won't be able to help yourself. Be prepared for fun!

I'm sure you're going to LOVE the show! Keep an eye out for Blunderites - I know at least a few will be at the show! How will you recognize them? They'll be the ones who are having even more fun than everyone else!

With the exception of the GC (which is a whole 'nother thang), the show at Gruene Hall on Thursday night was my all-time favorite gig of both Arlo Guthrie & family and the Burns Sisters--that's including 30 years, many states, and venues from Uncle Calvin's coffee house to Carnegie Hall. The only thing that could have made it better would have been performances by Annie and Folk Uke. The Burns Sisters brought down the house in the first set, and THEN Arlo took it over the top--everybody in the band was in top form and obviously having a great time. WOW!!!

I don't know if it was you, Curtiboy, but I sat next to a guy who would have been the right age, and definitely didn't sound like he was from Tejas--had one of those N'Yawker accents. We were on a bench (The Group W Bench, of course!) on the left (Burns Sisters) side of the hall.

WHAT A SHOW!!!

I was so delighted that the Burns Sisters had a full 45 minute set to open the show. They had the full band backing them and their good friend Andrew Hardin sitting in. Then Arlo did a full two part set after that. A couple of new songs (I think it was the first time I saw him use the arch top guitar) and a new story or two and ended with an enthusiastic Joseph story. It was one of the very best gigs outside of the GC. Nothing like an old fashioned Texas honky-tonk, rip roaring get down! Then the warmth of friendship afterward and Arlo signed a few things. Definitely a night to remember.

Sounds like a neat show. Would've loved to have heard the Burns sisters sing longer...
