Sunday morning meditate:

"I do not despise you priests, all time. the world over,
My faith is the greatest of faiths and the least of faiths,
Enclosing worship ancient and modern and all between ancient and modern."

A little Walt Whitman to ponder?

"Limitations exist in us, not in the world"

A little Huston Smith to ponder?

Thanks for the Bob Brozman. What a genius! Always fascinates me with his versatility and mastery!

ya... enjoyed the thoughts also. not terribly familiar with huston smith...only that he was associated with a psychedelic bunch at harvard (timothy leary, ram dass...)...but it is fun to at least recognize a name! ('tis a start)

anyway, things to ponder

that i was happy to read of and discover (i have posted before)
on brother juniper:

i know very little about the saints,,,and perhaps oddly enough, i first learned of st francis of assisi by reading the rolling blunder review!

Wow! Thanks folks. Some places are just cool. This is one of them. To quote some people that are smarter than me:

"I'm just glad to be here, happy to be alive"

St Francis had this prayer. I had forgotten how it went so I had to look it up online.

The prayer of St. Francis

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy;

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.

For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Great St Francis moments?

While we are on this subject. See it is not that an Atheist like myself is not sensitive to the arguments but it is that the people who make valid arguments about religion and God are oddly looked at as "The Lost Sheep" by those who pray to the gods of war? Those who rule the kingdom of heaven have no place for spiritual paths?

One last St Francis gasp from the past

Woke up this morning to dark skies and steady rain, made me think of this song written by St. George of Pepperland. Played sweetly and sadly on a uke:
