I personally am a musician and was wondering how many fellow Guthrie fans were musicians and what instruments you played.
I play guitar, harmonica, piano, bass, and trumpet. I'm currently on the search for more instruments to add onto my repertoire.

There are quite a few folks around here who are musically inclined. I play anything with strings, with varying degrees of competency. Sue plays guitar and autoharp. Dave is a wizard, which is kinda' like a magician, so He can play anything he wants. Len can really play guitar, as can Goofus and Captain Zap. Cheryl (from Pixley) plays a mean canjo. I'm sure I'm forgetting some folks - sorry 'bout that. Between all of us we could almost possibly make a band Now Larry can play, but his specialty and true passion lies in the realm of smartass-ism, irony and satire - he's classically trained. And the Guthrie clan plays a little bit, as you may be aware. Oh yeah, and there's this guy named Guitarman, but right this moment I can't seem to remember what he plays..........maybe drums or flute or something like that...........

Larry plays hockey, and I play CD's.

Toyed with the keyboard for a while, but now I stick to computer keyboards.

i almost bought a triangle the other day...saw it at a thrift store...really don't know why i didn't...it was a triangle after all...maybe my thoughts were a million miles away and i couldn't decide about whether or not to buy a triangle...i don't know...i could just kick myself!

i myself seem to be for the most part more inclined to dance?...still, i have been having dreamy heart bubbles popping over my head lately in the thoughts of perhaps one day owning and taking up ukulele. of course............maybe a cross between a ukulele and a triangle might be........a mandolin!

In my earlier post I think I was remiss by only referring to Blunderites who play actual musical instruments. I was by no means implying that others were not equally or more talented in other areas. Dancing is just like playing an instrument - only the instrument is really one's body (and mind?).........this is also true for singers, writers, and all-around whatever-they-doers! Not only are Blunderites talented, they are strangely talented, which is a much better thing to me. Almost anyone can be just plain-old talented........

I've been wanting a Triangle for years.........haven't run across one. I think being summoned for a meal with a triangle is really cool, reminds me of old cowboy movies.

I'll be on the lookout for a trukulele, or a ukulangle, for agnes for sure!!!

Ukulele is an instrument I'd be interested in learning. I assume it's not TOO different from guitar. Just a smaller, less stringed version? Quite a few instruments I'm interested in learning like mandolin, uke, bagpipes, and theremin.

I play other instruments too besides the canjo. Piano,organ, guitar, autoharp, mountain dulcimer and bowed psaltery. I did have to learn flute one yr in grade school. There are other blunderites who do a great job playing music. Sue does great playing autoharp and guitar.

I never got into any other percussion instrument besides piano. I have a drum set but I don't have the coordination to play it.

I just got an old banjo ukelele. Has art on the drum head and a metal resonator for a back. My friend says he'll fix it up when he gets a round tuit. Must be some specialized banjo uke part. It's taking a long time.

Yeah, goofus, those round tuits are getting real scarce, especially as we approach the dog days of summer.

You know, between triangles and round tuits, maybe we could come up with a band composed of geometric shapes.

Yup...guitar, diatonic and chromatic autoharps (single key and multi-key) ukulele, irish fiddle, and I dink around on Anglo concertina, mountain dulcimer and the behemoth old piano I inherited from a Folk Club friend that passed away.

The concertina is a challenge...it's exactly the same as two harmonicas, one on top of the other, and then split in the middle and operated with fingers. Like a harmonica, there's different notes push-and-pull, so you not only have to keep the buttons straight, whether to play with right or left hand (there's some overlap) and whether the note gets played in or out. Sometimes, there's not enough or too much air, so you have to hit the air button to vent or suck in more. Keeps your mind busy! My cat hates the sound of it, and does everything she can to get me to put it down...Molly, the music critic.

I like music instruments and I have some at home but I can’t really play, only few songs and chords on the banjo and the guitar. I am still (and probably, will always be) a beginner, but I don’t give up
The last one I've got, is a fiddle!! fortunately, I live in the country and far enough from the neighbors.
