Now I hear this guy say that Anarchy is the thing! That is the way to go. He says the root of all evil is the advent of social conciousness. The fact that I am obligated to help alleviate the problems of the world with my money. It ain't right and it aint justified. Woman needs a kidney replacement, if she or hers can't pay for it, then she should die. Why should I have to pay for it. THis guy is at the absolute null hypothesis on social programs. No public schools, no public post, no public nothing ( I got him in roads, gotta have some public roads I says).This other fellow with the blue colored shoulder length hair who talks metal music constantly (he plays the bass) says that that is what metal music is all about, a social null hypotheisis. I said, "so when I see a room full of white boys with there shirts off and their fist raised screaming to the sound of power chords at GiGadb intensity (I know I stole that part from R Crumb but I didn't tell them that) its all about anarchy and pure non social capitalism. He just said something about a band called RUSH which I know nothing about. THen they say the day will come when Anarchy can reign, I am like what. To these guys GW is a liberal ninny and when there is shootin' to be done you gather as a neighborhood group bring your best firearms and do some shootin'. (If that is what it takes). THen they go off into their stories of gun collections and the attempts by the socialist to disarm America and how to convrt an M16 into an illegal automatic weapon and stuff and I zone out and get another beer at the bar as sure as ever this will return to the time I mentioned that I suppported responsible gun control measures and then I am going to get all the crap that goes along. And these people all make their homes in Blue States (although some do have Santorem and Spector as Delegates in Washington but others our from Maryland).

And then they talk about Jefferson who is like their God. I say again, well oh Al Hamilton sounds like more of your boy to me. And they say no, Jeffersons their man. Keep economics simple! So naturally I open my mouth (you guys know I can't seem to be closed lipped) and say, why Jefferson was a Communist, He was all about an Agrarian Society run by small elected committees that reported into a Federal body. And he also believed in strong Public education (woo the big gun). Of course it just opened me up to endless lectures on how Jeffersonian Federalism (an anarchist oxymoron) was an essenially powerless entity whose sole purpose was social gatherings for the delegates not socialism for the deadbeats and Jefferson actually believed in Privitized education as they do! If them kids in the Ghetto want to learn they should have to pay for it!

I hate it when I go out and the conversation turns political, I rarely have allies with my perspective. But this was the first time I had heard of a Metal Music connection to this Anarchy?

I was in a band called either Dos Tres Quatro or Cinco Locos Gringos depending on how many showed up! We did a rockin' rendition of (to the log on the fire tune)

But it wasn't metal and I don't believe it was anarchist in sentiment (although it had cosmic significance about hunger in Mexico, it seems Coyote Bob (a major contributor to the song, based the lyrics on real life adventure when he went down there and lived on the western coast for awhile. He took his good fake eye out and left it in the States just for caution sake and made an eye patch of a Torada Tequila Sombrero (remember that cheap tequila with the little straw sombrero on top of the bottle). I never really new the hard core anarchy types though till I moved out of Oklahoma.)

On a humorous note, Bob was the only fellow I know that got arrested for transporting a stolen phone booth across state lines and concealing a deadly weapon at the same time. Seems Bob won a rattle snake down in Texas in a poker game and decided he didn't feel comfortable with just a bag to stick it in so he lasoed one them old type phone booths with the glass walls and pulled her over and up in the pickup bed to house the poor reptile. Well, when he got pulled over on the opposite bank of the Red River he neglected to warn the officer of the phone booth habitant. I don't think that was anarchy, I think it was just Bob's inherent stupidity. Why hell he even argued that it was obviously an Oklahoma phone booth based on the quality of the graffiti on the inside but they didn't bite and got for transportin' stolen merchandise across a state border. But he made up good words to songs (he could really rendition on there aint no bugs on me boys aint no bugs on me might be bugs on some you mugs or Maggies Drawers (they was warn they was torn they was stained with yeller s___, them saggy baggy drawers old Maggie war (obviously a vietnam vet!!,) still I don't believe there was anarchy! Maybe if you put crunchy power chords around it but we had a big bass fiddle on the bottom end and they just don't power right, you know!

I played acoustic guitar in a rock band in the 70's at the private high school I went to back them. We never had a name. I replaced some other chick who dropped out. We won a talent contest once. I made 50 cents & we got our pic in the Richmond paper. Lol...

THe Gringos never won anything, but we got to throw away all the empties at the Armadillo Roast!!!!! THat can be a lot of empties!!!!

The name came from a newspaper headline that read: "Anarchy Feared in South Africa". It was easy to cut and paste (with a copying machine) into a poster that could be stapeled onto almost anything.

Old Omar and Howlers huh, I got that Big Leg Blues around here somewhere on some AUSTEX Label on Vinyl with Caladonia and Big Brown Shoes. I saw those guys in a funky bar once and caught myself doing the old soft shoe with some woman I had never met before. THat R$B Bop n Boogie can get you into trouble! Been along time since I did the Funky Butt to that, so Goofus can get down with the R&B Funk!

Saw Arlo tonight at the Whitaker Center, Got the steel guitar thing happening and coupled up a Merle (Sing Me Back Home) and a Bob (Tambourine Man) song. Talked a lot in that spaced out manner and it made me laugh outright! A generally fun evening I thought with much laughter and such. No Anarchy!

I know Maggies Drawers seems a tacky little song but from the source I learned it (as well as a few even more tacky songs) and some other material I have found on it it is a Vet Folk song. I know Aint know bugs on me dates to the Civil War but this particular Maggies Drawers song is a Vietnam (or Cold War) song. Just curious, has anyone else ever heard it or a variant?

Nobodie remembers Red and the Boy's doin the Western Style Version of the old In a Godda Da Vida Baby on Red remembers the 60's from Wyoming Montana. I mean I can understand Maggies Drawers, but Red?). I always thought old Waldo Otto from the Knuckles, the electric table plyin' fellow, looked strangely like Dr Banjo (AKA Pete Wernick), those boys was funny when they let them off the bus! I first saw them the same Festival where i saw old Bryan Bowers do the Jack Daniels and Hash Song (bit outta character for Bryan but funny and real good too!) but he led the Sunday Morning Gospel and that was the first place I got the Ezekials Wheel round (way in the middle of the air) with a group to meditation proportions. He also did a mean I want a be ready (Walkin' in Jerusalem) and topped it off wit Ain't Goin a Study War No More, (with a jazzy Waaarrrrror no mooorrreeeor at the appropriate moment). i remember this old Mennonite Fellow there (must a been 80) was jumpin' up down sayin thats an old church song from when I first came to Kansas as a baby)! He got so excited he pissed hisself when the chorus rolled around but he kept on singin'. A thoroughly Cosmic Sunday Morning out on the plains in Winfield Kansas!

I saw another Sunday mornin' Gospel led by Willie and Bobbi Nelson once at a place called 48 Hours at Atoka (the country Woodstock, or so they said)! But Willie and Bobbi play a mean Gospel!!!! I was dancin' and shoutin' howl a lu ya.

My Brother is trying to get me to go to Fort Worth for Willies PICNIC this year! I went last year and saw Thom Bresh (Merle Travis' son) and Kris Kristofferson booed some fierce for singin' folk songs with topical lyrics. Been awhile since I saw stuff like that! This year old Bobby Z is gonna be there! Aint seen Bobby Z in awhile (he is 64 now!). I wonder if he will get booed for singing topical folk songs? Maybe I will go but that Bob Geldorf (I don't know if these names are spelt right) has that thing in Philly that sounds worth doin on July 2 I believe!

oh well, I have wasted enough space on the Group W Bench, i promise not to come back for awhile!

Hey, PS. Some people take up alot of space in this world breathin' hot air like a bag of wind. At least the space you take up is informative and entertaining!!!!

Louise, I would catch the the Alabama Leading Man while he is down under. His fingers get tired pickin' them songs and his voice will be a little toady by the end of the night but he sings some powerful words and he speaks his mind and he picked it up a notch when he started get heckled with shouts of "This is Bush Country" and such in the Fort Worth Stock Yards last July 4. Ol Willie (everbodies favorite dope smokin' redneck story teller) came out and stood right beside him as he was chokin' out his last songs (Willie quieted the hecklers a bit).

I watched in amazement when not long after Kris became a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame (currently another bastion in Bush country seein' how "the new improved Grand Old Opry" with swimming pools and a coutry music theme park was built by the Gaylord family, famous for being coowner of the Texas Ranger baseball team with GW once upon a time and a huge Oklahoma political force since the 19th century controlling the press (not your typical liberal rag) in the state since 1889 and alot of the communication industry there! One place I did visit in my life was Nashville TN. i went and toured the Ryman (the real Grand Old Opry) and stood midstage where Hank (and Grandpa Jones, the Carters, and Ernest Tubb and Loretta Lynn and that fellow that sang the old Wabash Cannon Ball among others stood) looking out across that theatre (another cosmic adventure). This was about 85 or so! Went and looked at Hank's guitar and everything, truly tearful! It's funny I was lookin at Hanks guitar but I was dancin' in my head at the time to that John Sebastion song about goin' to Nashville and lookin' at Hanks guitar at the time, couldn't get it outta my head. I also went to Memphis and toured Graceland. It was as much fun people watching there as seeing the "Jungle Room" and the Kitchen where his fried banana and peanut butter sandwiches were prepared (my Mom Mom Willa Mae made those for me when I was a kid and Elvis was still a thin young man).

No Anarchy or Metal Music here but I swear I aint comin' back for awhile, i mean it this time!

I wanta ride in, the car Hank Died in! I wanna stretch out in the back of that big old cadilac and ride to ever honky tonk in town!

Today was another one of those days. Days of wonderment, days of beffuddlement! I was listening to the radio and the news from the world and of coarse (SIC) the big debate was The Iraqi Constitution, The rights of man or the the rights of humans, that is the question? Should the kurds, kerds, kurds, predominate and therefore the rule of islam will not be part of the state daebate and therefore, women may be tolerated as not quite equal instead of certainly not equal but they may or may not please the suni who hate the shi ite possibly more or less than the kurds or kerds meanwhile as we pray the constitution will not go to a vote because the suni may not be able to get a supporting contingent sufficient to reject it and therefore hate the outcome enough to legitamize the insurgency and keep GW from meeting his goal of "peace with different terrorist threats", the ones we didn't address because we were invading Iraq suddenly the discussion changes, now we are concerned with women not really pursuing their carreers until they are 30 because schooling takes that long and situating is difficult and and babies threaten the biological clock so now we must freeze eggs because we can defer that decision till the time is right and rearing offspring is no longer an inconvenience while the bomber who blew up abortion clinics says he is sorry he may have killed innocents in olympic park in Atlanta but he doesn't care whose life was destroyed when he blew up those people in that abortion clinics and still the chinese future destroys our cheap gas and meanwhile back in Baltimore people still are not working and trying to get stoned because it just works better that way. and that doesn't even discuss my own little bizarre world!
