This will be repititious to Star & Cheryl, but I thought Blunderites might like to know that there were a couple times when I got bored & wrote new lyrics to familiar songs.

This one came in a bit of inspiration when I realized this winter that I was watching the morning news everyday to check out the weather lady.

It's called "In the Weather Tower" & you might wanna sing it to the tune of "Darkest Hour." Or maybe not.

It's early in the morning & I'm watching my TV
She comes waltzing 'cross the screen warning of showers
When her forecast is done I await the coming one
She's on again in a half-an-hour
When she speaks into the camera
She's talking straight to me
I think I'll send another dozen flowers
She never sends a thank-you
But I know they're in a vase
In the weather tower

I really should be leaving but she's on again real soon
Looks like I'll be late for work once more
The boss will be angry & I might even get fired
It's not as if it's not happened before
When I meet her & we marry
I won't even need a job
Weather ladies make a lot of dough
I'll take care of the kids
And clean the house while she's
In the studio

The station has a web site
I've emailed her many times
Until the station blocked my address
Then I tried to call but that didn't work at all
The news director threatened an arrest
Now she's got an injunction
But I know it's just a joke
Her sense of humor really is funny
In the meantime every morning
I'll be sitting in my chair
Watching my Weather Honey

(Edited to fix link. My computer skills haven't improved over 3 years.)

Joe, that's fabulous! And she reminds me of that fictional P'burger from Groundhog Day.

Thank you, Terrie!

Groundhog Day, eh? Hmmmmm...

Like Bill Murray's film critic character from SNL, I gotta say, "Didn't see it!"

But now I've gotta check it out some time.

Atta boy, Joe!
Reminds me of the sweltering heat index that melted my heart when I first laid eyes on The Weather Channel's meteorologist Kristina Abernathy. She was the ONLY reason I had Cable. The day I saw her sporting that big rock on her finger, I cried a flash flood of tears. My warm front has shifted direction since then towards 'Trading Spaces' crazy/beautiful Paige Davis. Any ideas of an injuction friendly email marinated in poetic flattery to send her would be mucho appreciated.

You're apparently not alone in your admiration for Paige... and I know this will break your heart, Levi, but Paige is not available... According to the AskMen Paige page , Paige is married... got married on the show "A Wedding Story" as a matter of fact. The AskMen article says:

Davis has been an invaluable addition not only to Trading Spaces but also to another hit show, A Wedding Story, which aired her nuptials to her actor husband Patrick Page; the episode achieved the highest ratings ever for that program. Note that if Paige were to use her married name, she'd be Paige Page.

Levi... I know how you feel. I've been disappointed so many times - most recently, when Harrison Ford took up with Calista Flockhart. What does she have that I don't have more of (aside from money, that is)?

I kinda admire Paige myself. I'm not a TV watcher by any stretch, but she was at PNC Park last year to film something & they showed her at work on a Pirates pregame show. So now I know who she is. She seems like she'd be fun to hang out with if we weren't both married!

Hi, Wyldflower!

I caught about 20 minutes of that show 'A Wedding Story', Wyld, (heavily sedated to help numb the pain of an inevitable broken heart). He doesn't appear to me to be her type. I like to think I'll have Paige in the tabloids by summer's end. Keep watching for the National Enquirer to soon read; Paige Davis dumps Broadway Hubby for Crazy Blunderite!!! In the meantime I'm going to remodel the lyrics to Bob Seger's 'Turn the Pa(i)ge'. Hey Joe, send Paige down here to do a Royals pregame show! Sorry about Harrison, Wyld. Isn't Calista Flockhart the daughter of June Flockhart from the shows FLassie and FLost in Space? (chuckle) sorry, it's late/early, goin' to bed.

Yep... June was the mom in both those shows... but didn't you spell the second one wrong? wasn't it "Flossed in Space" - the one about the gap-toothed family going to the dentist?

Oh, and ... Hi, Joe!

June was also in Fletticoat Fluction (Petticoat Junction) after Kate Bradley (Bea Benaderet died of cancer)...

Let's wait until you're named Royals manager. The Pirates manager, "Legendary Lloyd" McClendon, got a kiss from Paige, even tho' he had no idea who she was or why she was there.

O.K.! But I'll probably have to start working on a strong Latin accent to better qualify for the job. I'm kinda hoping that kiss from Paige will at least get me past 2nd base and on to 3rd. And it's a high fly ball over the left field wall!

Wyld, weren't some of the gap-toothed kids in 'Flossed in Space' played by David Letterman and Lauren Hutton?

The references to old TV shows are a good segue into my 2nd & final set of lyrics I have for you. I wrote this one over 2 years ago when I read that FOX was kicking off a new TV series of celebrity boxing matches by pitting Barry Williams, who played Greg on The Brady Bunch,& Danny Bonaduce, who played Danny on the The Partridge Family. Here it is, without any further adieu, a song that you can sing to the tune of the theme song from The Brady Bunch, if you're so inclined, this one titled "A Brady Punch."

Here's the story
Of a man named Barry
Who played Greg Brady on an old TV sitcom
He got old and
Lost his good looks
And his career did bomb

Here's the story
Of a man named Danny
Whose Partridge Family role we all enjoyed
His only talent
Was lip-synching
So now he's unemployed

Then the one day Barry's agent called up Danny's
And they knew that it was much more than a hunch
That the two could make a little money
If Danny Partridge learned to take a Brady punch

A Brady punch
A Brady punch
That's why Danny Partridge took a Brady punch

I think I saw that on tv. If I remember right, I think Bonaduce won. LOL!

This is a bummer.

The weather lady is leaving Pittsburgh for Dallas!!!

Hey, Ceashel, keep your husband away from the TV! This woman has strange alluring powers!

Oh, my! I'll be back after I e-mail that link to our doctor and ask her to tell Jay he's got to go on a strict no-Bologna diet!

Joe, we can tape the weather and send you care packages or, better yet, Wyld can attest that our guest room has lots of Blundery and moose things in it--when you miss the weather lady too much, come on down!
