I just want to take this opportunity to thank
Arlo and family for the wonderful show, that
they gave us, Thursday night.
In case anyone doesn't know, it was a benifit
for Stetson Kennedy and the Woody Guthrie Literary landmark at Beluthahatchee.
This was the first time that I have had the pleasure to see Arlo and gang live, although
I have listened to quite a few "field recordings", and I have to say it was, without a doubt, the most possitive and uplifting concert that I have ever been to.
My only dissapointment was that Arlo didn't come out for a chat after the show, but I figured that maybe he didn't want to steal any
of Mr. Kennedy's thunder, since this really was his night. It was funny, however, to see Arlo wondering around with Woody's old rifle, with a flower stuck in the bore.
One more thing...I've got to say that Sara and
Johnny have definately earned my respect. They
did this great song (I think the name was Jevar, or something like that) about the confederate flag flying in Columbia SC, and how that old battle flag should be put away.
I've got to say singing that song right smack dab in the middle of Lynyrd Skynyrd heaven took some really HUGE cojones. Good going Sara
and Johnny.

Once again, THANKS GUYS. Hope to see ya'll again real soon.

This was the first time I heard Arlo and the family together live. It was a great concert with Arlo sounding at his best. His acoustic guitar playing just gets better each year. I would love sometime to hear what "City of New Orleans" would sound like with him playing on a Seagull S6 Folk guitar. The audience really enjoyed the show.
